"The straightest route from this property, Rue Saint-Nicolas, to the city's main attraction is actually dangerous - it is lined with cat-calling and confrontational men and gangs of thieves - I would think advice on this from reception was very important but none was given. "Everything in our room that could break was broken, including the shower door, towel rack, kettle, and window latches. Even the cups were chipped, and one of the entrance keys we were given didn't work. Even though we were in a double room, we had to request a second towel on 2/3 days we stayed there. The street in front of this hotel is under major construction, so it is very noisy from dawn 'til dusk and the sidewalk is always difficult to negotiate. The hotel is above a fast-food outlet...

"It was horrible...It was my 1st time in France so I wasn’t aware of their culture. I used a towel to clean the floor and shower and was put out of the HOTEL the 2nd day! because the “owner” stated that that’s not the “french” way....I think he was being racist!! He also didn’t state that HE LIVED IN THE SAME HOTEL.....he advertised as iF the 2 beds were available but THEY WERE NOT!!! Wouldn’t recommend it to a dog!!!!"

"The location could not be better, in the center of Nancy. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Free coffee and a delicious dessert for you to take, are offered in the lobby. Room was clean and cozy. Then they change me to another room, and this room had a horrible smell like something died there. The front desk lady said the sewer was backed up in that room, and she apologized so she gave me another room. If yiu want quiet, then this is not the best place as being walking distance from everything, there is a lit of foot traffic with boisterous drunks at night. "It is quite a charming hotel..It has a very warm atmosphere The reception was excellent. The receptionist gave us information about the hotel and the city. It was a great welcome. The hotel has no laundry service. That is the only inconvenience I found but I can manage. I highly recommend this hotel. It has an excellent dining room with great menu."

Practical place to stay with all the basics

"This hotel is very centrally located and practical but not special. On one side of the block, there were drunk/high people hanging out with some others who were loitering in groups during the day. The other side has some fun bistros that are active at night. The hotel is pretty clean overall with contemporary, simple white interiors with light wood accents with very friendly front desk service and a more than adequate breakfast spread for an additional cost. Breakfast included not only croissants & nice breads but eggs, cheese, meat and more. Rooms were a good size and had comfortable beds. If you expect to have a stay with charm in this architecturally interesting city, this is not it but it has the basics for a practical place to stay."
