The twice-weekly market on Kamala Main Road is packed with atmosphere, bustling with bargain-hunting locals and fragrant with the aromas of traditional street food. The Friday night village market brings together a variety of stalls selling clothes, DVDs, handicrafts and fresh produce. If you miss the markets, there are plenty of well-stocked shops to browse for souvenirs or stock up on tasty local fare.As night falls, the tranquil pace of life shifts up a gear as the crowds start arriving for Phuket FantaSea. This Vegas-style extravaganza features a cast of hundreds, from trapeze artists and traditional dancers to performing elephants and spectacular acrobatics. Soak up the carnival atmosphere as you wander among the colourful stalls and dine beneath the stars.Kamala Beach is 8 kilometres north of Patong Beach on the west coast of Phuket Island, around half an hour’s drive from the international airport.
