We had an amazing experience staying at Centara Grand Beach Resort. The hotel management is exceptional, and every staff member I interacted with was professional, well-trained, and courteous. She truly went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and memorable. Two rivers with waste water fall into the ocean near the lake. There are no good walking path out of the hotel. Hotel restaurants are very expensive even for 5* - €10 for a 0.33 local craft beer. The hotel has good rooms with huge traces.

Staff were friendly & always helpful. Place in need of renovation (eg. Bathtub side split open, wood split in panels in bedroom). Pool guy checking PH level and cleaning plunge pool daily. Main pool beautiful & overlooking beach & only a few meters away. They should at least clean shore daily. Has heaps of washed up rubbish. Quite far from any decent restaurant outside the resort. So was stuck eating same food pretty much everyday. Decent fare to pay to go to Patong to eat or shop - 400Baht. Not much difference if going to nearby town of Karon - 350Baht. No roomy air conditioned lounge to wait after checkout. Has a small souvenir shop but rarely open.

Dislikes: on the older side of resorts, Food and drink is crazy expensive price taxes. Not really walking distance to anything interesting. Room was not available at checkin and no notification sent once it was. Linens and towels in room were dirty. Cleaning service just made the bed but floor was still dirty and dishes not removed. Flickering light in room reported but not fixed. Food at lunch restaurant was overcooked and seevice was terrible. Food at breakfast buffet was stale. Refund for 4 days of breakfast charges are still pending refund. When checking out, late checkout was approved but key card for room stopped working. Bellman never showed up to bring down our bags and had to bring them down ourselves. We even looked at neighboring properties to move however with a last minute change didn't have many options. Overall, don't recommend
