"Overnight meet up in Lancaster but this hotel was absolutely perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful - we had a problem with our remote control and were offered several options to help, including the offer of a different room to see if the TV was any better there. 5min walk to station. 2min walk to castle. Central location for town with a selection of eateries. Beds were extremely comfortable. Possibly some more hooks in the room would be useful to hang coats. Also hook on bathroom door would be handy The hotel is obviously of its age and clearly has a lot of history so it might seem a little dated but it was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Not sure how much use the Crypt (downstairs bar) gets but it would make a great spa!! All in all a really lovely stay. . "

"Loved the hotel and facilities. The Room had a wonderful view of the lake and was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The restaurant was wonderful and the food fantastic. The biggest and best part of our stay were the staff. Friendly, attentive, and helpful. A huge plus for the hotel. "

" We booked the Pines for 3 nights and we were both pleasantly surprised, it's a gem. The lodges are set around a tranquil lake and are easily accessible from the M6. The lodge was very clean and very well equipped, comfortable beds, quality bedding and towels and central heating. The staff were really friendly and informative. The bar area is relaxing and inviting, I cannot really comment on the quality of the food at the restaurant as the lodges are geared for self catering with extensive equipment, such as, a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, toaster, everything you need is provided...so we didn't eat in the restaurant but did notice the menu prices seemed expensive. Obviously been so close to major roads we expected some noise from traffic, but it was minimal and the lodges are double glazed. We really enjoyed our stay😊 I'd definitely recommend giving the Pines a visit."

"We had an executive suite which was excellent, it was well worth the extra money for the space & the extra touches. The quality of the furnishings & the bedding were very good & the bed was very comfy, we slept so well. it was cleaned each day to the same standard, the only slight issue was the soap dispensers we not very full & we ran out of all by the second day & the one on the sink wasn`t filled, only the bath & shower, we made do as it was our last night. Breakfast was very good, lots of it & plenty of choice which kept us going all day."
