"We stayed at this property for the Kiawah Marathon. When we checked in, we notified to local contact that we could hear a low battery chirp from a smoke detector in a locked closet. We were assured there were no smoke detectors in the closet, and that we could remove the smoke detector batteries from the other units. "I would have given the property a higher rating and REALLY wanted too given that John the owner was so responsive and communicative. However, the place needs some attention. We think a good coat of paint on the inside, fixing some of the mechanical issues like the dishwasher, shower heads, clean the carpets, replace some carpets with new flooring, a good deep cleaning, etc would go a long way.
