Enjoy more than just the beach in this bright and airy 1 bedroom 1 bathroom efficiency with porch and fenced yard, located in a quiet, centrally located neighborhood. It's just one block from the bay/sound, and an easy walk or bike to the beach!

The interior space has queen bed, dresser, desk, flat screen smart tv with cable AND roku (with netflix, discovery app, etc), coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge. New linens, comforters and towels at the beginning of every season. The bathroom is nautically themed, with tile shower and granite countertop vanity. Walk out onto the porch for coffee or a cocktail, to hear the birds & smell the salt air. There's a small ocean peek from the porch.

The fenced yard makes it easy to bring your fur baby! Just relax and enjoy the beach, soundfront sunsets and more!

It's a short walk to the beach, with a pedestrian-friendly stoplight crosswalk. Or, it's about a 30 second drive to one of the many public beach access, all with free parking.

The bedroom, bathroom and covered porch are private to you. There is a shared entrance area to walk through (shared with the owner) to get to the stairs that lead to the private porch and the private room/bathroom. The porch overlooks a fully fenced yard that is shared with the owner and her dogs. (I try my best to minimize the time my dogs spend in the yard while guests are there. It's usually just a few minutes in the morning and in the evening.)

The neighborhood has a soundfront bike path that spans for miles along the water, which is a great place to walk, bike or jog, and this area is know for it's amazing sunsets. All you have to do is walk down the street and explore. You can even follow the path all the way to the Wright Brothers Monument. There's a breakfast place one block away, 2 coffee shops within 2 blocks and more shops and restaurants all within a short walk.

I live above the unit, so I'm happy to give recommendations for restaurants, activities, or help with anything you may need. While I do my best to be as quiet as I can, you may hear footsteps and the dogs barking from time to time.

I loved this beautiful neighborhood, it had a lovely walking path near the sound, and quiet wallable streets within the neighborhood itself. It was so close to nice coffee shops and within minutes driving to the beach. It was the perfect size for us and my dog loved exploring and relaxing on the deck. Jeanne-Marie was easily reachable and very kind in giving us suggestions. What a quiet, peaceful stay.

The room worked well for us and our small dog. It was much better than staying in a hotel. It was nice to be able to sit on the private deck in the evening and our dog had space to roam on the deck and in the yard.

Perfect getaway for couples and pets!
This was our first trip bringing our dog along and the space was perfect! The fenced in yard was amazing and the owner was very friendly and understanding with some barking our pup did when getting used to the property! Definitely recommend to anyone traveling with a pet!

We had a great time with our chocolate lab at this property! He was able to run around in the fenced in yard and we were so close to the beach! Our host gave us instructions on how to get to the beach and recommended a dog friendly coffee shop. Would highly recommend!

While we were comfortable overall, I would suggest an extra blanket because it was quite cool in the room and we were not able to adjust the thermostat. Also, the outside stairwell was super dark at night, a light would have been helpful. A hair dryer and soap for the shower would have been great too. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

What a great stay. The room with so comfortable and cozy. The property manager had amazing communication with us so we knew exactly where to go and then what amenities and beaches were around it. My husband said it was the most comfortable sleep he had had on that mattress!

Perfect Weekend Getaway
Excellent location, close to the beach, and walking distance to the sound side. Close to many of our favorite restaurants and shopping spots. Cozy, very clean and comfortable efficiency. The mini frig had tons of room for drinks and snacks. The large deck was shady and super relaxing. A dog friendly efficiency that offers a huge, grassy, fenced-in yard with beautiful trees and flowers. We really enjoyed our stay and will look forward to returning in the future.

Loved our stay! Great hostess
our hostess was the nicest! She shared supper with us, but was still respectful of our space. I didnā€™t feel bothered or uncomfortable. it was the perfect amount of being available but not too much. Her space was SO CLEAN. Iā€™m super sensitive to cleanliness and I went barefoot in our space. Location to the beach was perfect. We canā€™t wait to come back.

Lovely Beach Getaway
My partner and I and our two dogs stayed for a nice long weekend at Jeanne-Marieā€™s spot. It was the perfect place for us. The room was small and quaint with just enough room for us and the dogs. It was walkable to various restaurants, coffee shops, and the beach. We loved having deck space to sit out on when we were just hanging at the house and were able to let our dogs roam the yard a bit. Jeanne-Marie was always responsive, very welcoming, and super accommodating as we coordinated dogs being out. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend this spot.

Absolutely Perfect
We are so grateful to have found this little gem. The property is beautiful, clean, and tastefully decorated. The private porch is perfect for relaxing with your morning coffee or glass of wine at night. The neighborhood is close to everything and we cant say enough about the owner. Peace and Quiet
I have not had a vacation in 20 years and have a very hectic lifestyle. This was a birthday present to myself. I wanted to be near things as the efficiency did not have a kitchen but did not want to be around people. I took my dogs and just wanted a relaxing time. There was a book kiosk in the neighborhood and I thoroughly enjoyed that as well as the walking/bike path along the bay. I must have gone at the perfect time as there wasn't any real traffic early in the morning and just a small amount of people in the afternoon. This was perfect for me. One day took the dogs to Hatteras and walked the beach. Smooth drive. Just what I needed for my getaway.

Host is GRACIOUSLY inviting and communicates check-in and check-out procedure perfectly. Room is perfect size for a solo traveler with any size dog, or a couple with a small to medium dog. Quaint and inviting accommodations include a queen bed thatā€™s super comfortable, a smart TV for nights in or rainy days, Wi-Fi, and a mini fridge for beverages. Yard space is great for dogs to exercise in and do business! The OBX area is bustling with things to do. The efficiency studio is just a short walk to the sound and a bike ride or short drive to the Atlantic coast. Also short drives to Wright Brothers monument, tourist destinations like Duck, and easy access to restaurants, activities, and groceries with a Publix and Target by each other. And there's plenty to do for dog families too ā€” just keep Fido leashed at all times and pick up his business, and youā€™re set! There are zero flaws to this space if you fit the bill. Itā€™s a perfect-sized getaway space for folks who want to get out on the town more, while still offering solace after a busy day or during rain!

Great find for peaceful getaway with pup
This was an excellent find for a relaxed, one week getaway to the OBX for me and my medium-sized dog. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood very close to the sound so we had wonderful sunset walks along a multi-use path. It was very convenient to go to Jockey's Ridge State Park, Nags Head Woods, or the Wright Brothers Memorial for a few hours of adventure with the dog and then come back for a little downtime at the beach. Jeanne Marie is a welcoming host ā€“ responsive to questions and provided great suggestions for restaurants all within 5-20 min (Salt Box Cafe is a must). The shaded deck and large backyard expanded the compact, indoor living space. The deck was perfect for enjoying coffee or a drink and watching the pup run around the securely fenced backyard (a real bonus for a hovering pet parent). The bedroom and bath were tasteful and very clean but no closet. There is a spacious mini fridge with a separate freezer for saving that ice cream that I just couldn't finish. The host kindly provided some starter coffee until I could go to the nearby Publix. All in all, this was a very comfortable and peaceful place to stay which I would definitely book again.
