"Booked to stay for 1 night after a trip to Alton Towers. It's a shame we didn't stay for longer as the kids absolutely loved it - particularly the garden which was packed with things for them to do, including a zip line. Would definitely recommend for families and groups of friends with kids."

"I you want to be out and about every day in beautiful scenery and then have an awesome base to relax then look no further. Stunning views out of every window and 2 large secure paddocks that you can let your 4 legged friend enjoy with no fear of them getting out. "Close to the M6 The Moat House makes for a lovely staging post. Restaurant specialises in steaks. It’s stylish and popular with locals so booking is important. The hotel is an upgraded historical lodge and has stylish decor throughout. The room was spacious and comfortable. My only mild disappointment was the breakfast was a bit small. Overall strongly recommended."

Busy but quiet

"Busy hotel but extremely quiet room. Usually you hear the corridor door slam every time someone passes through, or their footsteps on the floor. The room we had was silent! We couldn’t hear people or cars at all. We had the Superior King room and it was so lovely and spacious. The breakfast was great too!"
