"From the initial enquiry, communication with the owners was excellent. Anne and Frédéric are excellent hosts, very helpful without being intrusive. The accommodation cannot be faulted. Clean, very well equipped and very spacious. Small but well stocked supermarket within 5 minutes. Larger Carrefour and E Leclerc hypermarkets within 20 minutes. Pleasant 3 mile walk through vineyards and around a lake straight from the Gite with more demanding and walks and hikes within driving distance....

"Amazing chalet. Very clean and in a beautiful location. Hot tub, sauna and swimming pool very clean. Hosts were friendly and the bottle of wine and free ticket to the castle were very nice welcoming gifts. Highly recommended."

"The property is situated in a beautiful valley and the host provided guidance for things to see and do around. The gite is specious downstairs and the kids (and dog!) absolutely loved playing with the donkeys and the turtles. We were offered to purchase a home-cooked meal which was generous and tasty. "Perfect location if arriving by train. We had a fantastic welcome and Sandra was very nice and clearly took pride in the property. The gite was spacious, comfortable, clean and well equipped. We walked to the old city with our 11 year old in about 25 minutes. The old city is magnificent! Having the cafe downstairs for breakfast was really easy. If we come back to Carcassonne we would hope this apartment was available."

Perfect hotel in perfect location.

"Nice older hotel, but all modern features in room, in excellent location. About a 10 minute walk to amazing fortress/castle and same to the old part of town. Hotel had a small store attached, where you can buy great wine at an excellent price. They also had a great selection of cheeses and bread, plus other nice foods/snacks. Also, on the third floor they had a nice small terrace area to sit and drink wine, enjoy your bread and cheese and get an amazing view of the magnificent castle/fortress. They also had a nice patio garden area, but we didn’t avail ourselves of this. Lastly, the staff were friendly and the owners were on site all the time. They were very kind and helpful to us as we had to stay an extra night. Would thoroughly recommend this outstanding hotel, with extremely kind and friendly owners. "

Hôtel Le Donjon - Coeur de la Cité Médiévale

"This is a historic hotel in the heart of Carcassonne. There are steps to the rooms. It was clean with an accommodating staff. We had a later arrival than planned and the parking attendant waited and got us and all our luggage to the hotel. We were able to access parking after hours also with a code. Breakfast was good. The bar area was lovely. I would stay here again."

"We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The room was an upgrade so we had a balcony and wonderful of the old city of Carcassonne. The bedroom had a huge open plan bathroom with large, round bath. We used the swimming pool, which is indoors and very nice for a quick dip. The breakfast was lovely! "
