"I get woken up by a phone call 11:30 PM the night before check in saying the county has turned the water and electricity off. The county says it is uninhabitable. I had friends in the area and they sent me a photo showing the county shut them down three days prior to the call. The house was in shambles. No way someone was/will stay there. We had twelve family members coming. Some flying from NY. AND... this rental was for fourth of July week! Good luck finding a place for 12 people for the next day at midnight Friday night. VRBO does not care. I started the refund process the next day. After two weeks, nothing. So I spent 3 hours on the phone with VRBO and finally got my refund. I will never use VRBO again for our family's vacation needs, I promise. What is worse, is this property is owned by a church. Not one of the owners (apparently a committee) has even bothered to reach out to me to apologize. Nice huh? The midnight call I received came from a grandson of one of the grandson's of a committee member. He felt bad enough to warn me before driving 6 hours into a horrible situation. I would question GAP Ministries of Nashville's faith if I was a member. They certainly did not treat my family right, and apparently, still do not care. I did get my refund, but what about compensation for the absolute horrible spot THEY put us in and all the time spent fighting to get my refund. What is that worth? Zero, I guess!"
