Eating Out? Two miles away, in Laurelville, there are 6 family owned restaurants. The State Parks & Nature Preserves nearby are: Rockhouse, Conkles Hollow, Tar Hollow, Cantwell Cliffs, Ash Cave, Old Man's cave.

Laurelville is a small town on the western end of the Hocking Hills. It is mostly comprised of nice farmers and kind hearted hill people. The closest larger towns are Logan, Circleville, and Chillicothe.

Ravens Retreat is a 2 mile drive up off Thompson Ridge East from Laurelville. A 25 to 35 min scenic walk on the heavily wooded two lane road, if you feel like you would like to walk to town. Laurelville has several businesses. Those being the Hocking Hills Visitor Center, Laurelville Fruit Company , Salt Creek Valley Bank ( AKA Vinton County Bank), Youngs Family Market, Gas Station, Family Dollar, Whites Hardware Store, A Grain Mill, Car Wash, USPS Post Office, and 6 restaurants. Those 6 restaurants are The Ridge Inn, The Village Café, Old Town Diner, L & J's Ice Cream & Pizza, Mam's Rusted Skillet, and Laurelville Pizza. We are particularly fond of Laurelville Pizza due to the delicious vegan/plant based pizza they make upon request. Doug and Tiffany, the husband and wife combo that run Laurelville Pizza, make delicious food. We order our pizza with, or without, vegan cheese. If you have interest in the vegan cheese, we recommend calling a week ahead to give them a chance to make sure its stocked.

If you are up for checking out some local art while away from Ravens Retreat, check out The Jack Pine Studio located 6 miles/10 min drive from the property. This studio focuses on glass work and is well known for intricate glasswork and live demos.

If for some reason you are meeting a group of people in the Hocking Hills, Laurelville has a nice playground and shelter house near the family Dollar.

If you only have one day to visit a Hocking Hills State Park, check out Conkles Hollow located 11 miles/18 min drive away. If you have more time, check out Rock House located 6.5 miles/11 min away.
Guests have access to hiking all of our 58 acres, and all the land around The Pollinator site.

Friendly reminder, we do not allow fishing, swimming, or hunting on the property.

While you are here, we want you to feel completely welcomed and free to explore around the property while doing your best to leave the smallest footprint possible. The Whippoorwill birds here lay eggs on the ground without a nest so please watch your steps on the ground. We would like for you to stick to traveling on trails when at all possible.
Ravens Retreat is in the Hocking Hills a little under 2 miles up a heavily wooded two lane road called Thompson Ridge Rd, just East of Laurelville Ohio. About a quarter mile down our driveway are two parking spots on the left side designated for Pollinator guests. Parking is always free.

Splendid Sanctuary of Stillness
Raven's Retreat encapsulated all that my partner and I were hoping to experience in our getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city streets. We felt safe and secluded in our beautiful cabin and enjoyed the variety of amenities the grounds had to offer. We hope to be back sooner than later!

Take a Step Away from it All
The perfect destination for anyone looking for a more primitive and simple accommodation that still offers the basics like electricity and heat. We very much enjoyed the entertainment state and the options to enjoy a movie night. The electric fireplace is a nice touch and i really appreciated the four gallons of filtered water for cooking and drinking. Soft ver and blankets made for a cozy atmosphere.

Little getaway
I stayed at the pollinator cabin with my boyfriend for a little birthday getaway. The views from the cabin were stunning and the cabin itself was a cute little place with the necessities we needed for a short stay. I enjoyed the hot tub and walking trails and despite not having service or Wi-Fi we didn’t really feel the need to check our phones once. I would definitely recommend this cabin and would return again.

Loved Tiny Pollinator
We were only there for two nights, but loved both and also enjoyed some discussions w Dustin, co-owner w Raven. They have put a lot of detailed attention to the place and it was everything they described. It was quite private, which we desired, actually has windows w screens that open to the breezes, and we highly recommend this cabin. Lake Logan and Hocking Hills State Park are both nearby. Good food found in Laurelville center.

AN UN-BEE-LIEVABLE BEE-UTIFUL TIME
Me and girlfriend chose this location for our anniversary and we couldnt have decided on a better place to spend our time! The vibes were immaculate and our host were just as wonderful as our stay. The Pollinator tiny electric home was super clean, very crafty architecture and a minimalistic design that helps you appreciate the term "less is more"The perfect little place to spend pur anniversary. We listened to the beautiful uninterrupted sounds of nature right outside our door and gawked at the natural beauty of the property from the side of our bed. We walked the trails on the property and were completly blown away by the well carved out paths that led to the fitness area and meditation area! We enjoyed looking/listening to the bees in the beehive right outside the window! They never bothered us and kept us intrigued throughout our stay. We dipped our toes in the hot tub, rinsed our bodies in the outside shower and melted our problems away in the outside sauna while overlooking a beautiful little dropoff. Me and my girlfriend spent hours listening to records on the record player and damcing our little hearts away! It honstly felt like a movie there. Our host were more than accommodating when it came to ensuring we had a great time and wonderful experience. Dustin and Raven are some of the most wholesome people that I've ever met and I learned a lot from the hours I spent talking with them. I drank springwater, had edible plant life right from the property and shared laughs.

Great little tiny place. We enjoyed the hot tub & the sauna. No signal around where we stayed at and thats what we like. We just need to unplug. We went to the Rock House and it is not a long drive as well. We wish we could stay longer, definitively we will be coming back.

Lovely and quiet
The tiny home was wonderful! It was quiet and serene and beautiful all around. The large windows were perfect to view the pond and surrounding area. It was very close to the Rock House. Because it was rainy and hot that is all the hiking I did but loved it. The Pollinator had everything we needed!! Thank you for having such a beautiful place to share with others. Almost forgot - I loved the hot tub area with lights and screen above. :) I would recommend this property to others for sure!!

Amazing slice of heaven
From the time of booking Raven and Dustin were beyond amazing hosts. From the small attention to detail, helpful tips, suggestions and property itself- WOW! Best experience we have had by far. This property exceeded my expectations and just what hubs and I needed to reconnect and enjoy nature. Close to trails, local restaurants... just perfect! I highly recommend and will definitely be back!! Thank you both for making our 20th anniversary the best!! 💕
