Secluded Cozy Luxurious Cabin, Gourmet Kitchen On 100 Acres W/ Miles Of Trails

Hello I'm Joe. if you're looking for a place to relax, hike, ski or just enjoy nature this is the perfect place. The cabin is nestled between two mountains up a 1/4 mile driveway very private.

With a rustic look on the exterior while the interior is very luxurious top of the line appliances, washer and dryer, spacious kitchen open to the living area for entertaining. A second-floor Deck with an outdoor jacuzzi The cabin has two bedrooms The lower level has two beds and the second floor bedroom has one bed and one pull out bed in the sectional sofa. The downstairs also has two lounging chairs in front of a wood stove and a covered front porch with couch and chairs.

We are close to Babcock state park, the New River for kayaking and fishing and only 45 minutes from Winterplace for excellent skiing. We are situated on 100 acres and next to the New River National Forest with miles of trails for hiking or riding ATV's or horses. This is also a great central location to enjoy many of the festivals in the area.

This is a rural area so you should bring your groceries. although there is dollar store that has some groceries a few miles up the road in Danese. Regular grocery stores Kroger, Food Lion, Walmart, are in Beckley. approximately 20 miles away.

Thank you!--Such a beautiful place! We were sold already when the gentle horses came up to us to let us pet them when we arrived but the whole experience was lovely for my husband, 4-year-old, 9-month-old and dog and I. Very comfortable cabin with everything we needed and the hot tub overlooking the forest is stunning after going for a hike. Many options for groceries/restaurants/hiking/climbing about 30-45 min away which worked well for us and we appreciated the quiet location. Honestly it was an amazing experience just to spend time at and explore the property. All our human and canine sons did not want to leave!

Lovely quiet retreat!
We really enjoyed our stay! The property is huge and they had 2 horses that were so friendly. The place is pretty remote, which was an adjustment for our teen girls, but they ended up having a lot of fun. Great communication with our host, too!

Property was perfect for our three night stay. We loved the horses and getting to feed them apples. Our dog enjoyed getting to free roam on the property. There are so many cool hikes in the New River Gorge area, filled with history of the mining sites.

This property is stunning and has so much history! We didnā€™t even come close to exploring all the wonders this property has to offer. The cabin is so relaxing and has an amazing atmosphere and vibe. Stargazing is like no other, especially while relaxing in the hotub. The horses were a huge bonus and are yet another reason this cabin and property are a must. Thank you so much Joe!! You are so kind and we were so sad to leave your paradise. Wonderful location to find some quiet and solitude. Beautiful property with wonderful trails. Even on the rainy day we had sitting on the patio with a hot cup of tea and a warm blanket listening to the rain hit the tin roof and splash on the pond was serene. We were provided plenty of clean towels, sheets and blankets. The upstairs is beautiful and everything I hoped for in a cabin in the woods. We will definitely be coming back, hopefully in the fall when the colors of the mountains come alive. Thank you Joe for sharing this treasure.

The best dog friendly getaway ever!
My family and I loved Joe's property! I brought my two dogs with me and I cannot tell you how nice it was to be able to let them off leash to explore his amazing property without having to worry about other people or dogs! His property is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the woods and creek. Listening to the symphony of peepers at night under the stars while relaxing in the hot tub was fantastic. It was a close enough drive to get in all the hikes we wanted to do at New River Gorge NP but far enough away to feel peaceful and secluded. The beds were SO comfortable! The kitchen was an absolute dream with everything we needed to make some yummy dinners and play games on the large kitchen island! The gas grill has seen better days but we managed with the grill pan provided and the charcoal grill did just fine šŸ˜ thank you so much Joe!!! I will definitely be back!!

Dog gone fun!
My wife and I visit the Smokies every fall to hike but unfortunately dogs aren't allowed on the trails. We stumbled upon Joseph's cabin when searching for a place we could take them and more than a year later, we finally booked it for our anniversary weekend. It was peaceful having the place to ourselves and being able to have our 3 dogs off leash the whole time. They had a blast running the trails, playing in the streams, and swimming in the pond. They were exhausted! While they snoozed downstairs, we enjoyed ourselves in the spacious upstairs making dinner and relaxing on the large couch. After dark we kicked back in the hot tub and took in the clear night sky full of stars. Between the modern amenities, stocked kitchen, and Joseph checking in to ensure we were enjoying ourselves, it felt more like staying a family members house. Keep that in mind during your stay; this IS someones house, not some hotel. Take care of it and leave it in better condition than when you arrived. Joseph, thanks for sharing your home and we look forward to our next visit.

Rough on the outside (yard, etc.), gas grill in really bad shape. Hot tub cold. We were unable to get there Tuesday due to illness, which we communicated to the owner. We arrived Wednesday at 5. By 6 we tried to get the hot tub working, figure out how to turn the outside patio light on, which was a plug in light. Owner helped us get everything turned on with email communication. At 9:30, the hot tub was still cold. He offered to send someone over, but we were going to bed. I asked him to wait. He said he would send someone over today, but no one showed up. This cabin had several issues, hot tub, bathroom sink not draining properly, walking trails were grown up, kayak equipment was in disarray, no horses. My big issue was hot tub. Itā€™s the only reason I picked this rental over others. Please issue a refund for my hassle.

We have driven past this cabin is years past, I was excited driving down the super long driveway! We couldnā€™t have been happier with Joe, any questions he was quick to respond, cabin was amazing and the views were spectacular!! Especially the stars from the hot tub in the evenings, weā€™ll be back hopefully with snow and maybe the horses will be home too!! Canā€™t wait to book it again! Oh and we loved the book on the history around town, super cool!! Thanks Joe
