"Seems to have been renovated given that some of the photos online are rather old, this place is anything but, it is very new and was possibly one of the nicest places we stayed while in Europe for 5 weeks. Its very green and new age but all the creature comforts are there, large bath, excellent shower, view from the window with a great design and nice little cafe downstairs."

"We were very pleased by our stay at the Altstaft. It is a small boutique hotel that isn’t fancy but it is in great condition, super clean and in a great location near Bismarckplatz, transportation and the Main Street for shopping and dining. Walkable in 15 minutes to the funicular to get to Schloss Heidelberg. Would go back for sure."

"The receptionist at our check in was wonderful! She provided us with a map of Heidelberg and noted attractions for us. She is a great spokesperson for this town. My cappuccino at breakfast was the best I’ve had yet in Germany, and breakfast staff were amazing too. Our room is enormous and like a studio apartment, highly recommend. "

"We only stayed one night but really loved this place! Very clean and in a great part of the city. A little bit of a hike up a lot of stairs to get to the castle but fun to hike if you are prepared for that. Really no parking even though it advertises that there is parking nearby. We had to park far away and walk back. Overall we would recommend Villa Marstall if you are ok with walking. "
