Our stay at this hotel was one of the worst experiences we had in England. We arrived at night, and the check-in process was frustrating. The receptionist couldn’t find our reservation for 30 minutes because it was listed under our last name. He then realized the room had been given to another guest.
The receptionist tried to move us to a downgraded room with no view, despite us paying for a room with a view. After complaining, we were finally upgraded to a better room, but the whole process was exhausting. We were only in Liverpool for one night and half the next day, so it really counted that we missed our chance to visit the Cavern Club. By the time we got to our room, it was 11:30 PM, and the club closed at midnight.
The poor service continued at checkout. We thought checkout was at 12 PM, as listed on Expedia, but we were never told otherwise. The hotel also didn’t provide any information about checkout times or policies, and the staff was rude when we asked.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The lack of communication and poor customer service ruined our plans and made the stay stressful. I would not recommend this hotel.
