We had decided to upgrade our overnight Monday stay at Malmaison to the highest grade in a double room, which was a club deluxe double. We checked in after 3pm as instructed. Upon entering our room we initially felt something was wrong. The shower looked like it had been used immediately before we arrived. There was a used towel on the rack. One bottle of water was missing and there were no coffee cups alongside the machine. The last resident had also left their nectar card in the room key slot by the door. We were leaving for a meal in town straight away, and so went to reception on our way out and informed them of this. The lady on reception was very nice andapologetic,and asked if we wanted to move rooms. We confirmed we would like this if possible. The manger on reception then said, this was not possible. They said the room would be seen to immediately.
We returned a few hours later. Our room has been serviced and there was a voucher for four hotel drinks on the table. We were very grateful for the drinks vouchers but disappointed we were not moved after check in.
