Lummus Park Beach is a scenic and busy stretch of grass and sand along the side of Ocean Drive in Miami Beach. It has all types of activities and sports areas, with palm trees swaying above beach volleyball courts. Rent a chair and umbrella and settle in for a hot, sunny afternoon in this popular spot by the ocean.

Relax and sunbathe, as you enjoy the spectacular views of the varying blue-green hues of the water. Bring supplies for a picnic on the beach and join sports and games with your friends. Go for a swim in the clear and warm water and dry off under the sun or in the shade of a tall palm tree. Crisscrossing through the greenery are paved paths for walking, jogging and cycling.

On the adjacent Ocean Drive, explore restaurants, shops and cafés. Watch the sun go down and the sky darken, before sipping cocktails at some of the many bars. Head back toward the beach at night to enjoy the atmosphere and watch as people move from pub to pub.

Newcomers to the park may recognize parts of it, due to its popularity as a setting and filming location for movies and television programs, including Miami Vice and Burn Notice.

Check for the occasional events set up in the park, with the South Beach Triathlon among the most prominent. Find public restrooms and other facilities on site.
