"Although the Amon Hotel was a wonderful little oasis in the Westside of Luxor, the lack of means to get around made it hard on a daily basis. I think if any hotels in the area had contacts they could call when guests need rides to sites, ferry, shopping etc. this would bring in more clients. The staff were great."

"The Royal Mountain Hotel is not in the centre of Luxor, but its position on the edge of the desert near the Valley of the Kings means it is quiet and has beautiful views of the nearby mountains. "Quality place to stay. Breakfast was great and we ate once in the Italian restaurant which was also very nice. For breakfast aim to get a spot on the balcony and enjoy some views of the Nile. The hotel partners with Nasco for their tours (i.e. Valley of the Kings) and they were really helpful. A little more expensive than some other operators but always felt like we were in solid hands, which wasn't the case when reading some reviews of other operators."

"The hotel is located very close to Luxor temple and a very good area indeed. The amenities and ambience is great and breakfast spread/ room were excellent. Only thing which was strange was that rooms didn’t have iron box to press clothes given the hotel amenties and they charged 5$ to have clothes pressed which was a bit farcical I felt. Overall good stay and would recommend it highly nonetheless."

"It was situated in a quite area along with the locals and other hotels near by. The entrance to the hotel is deceptive as inside it is very big and has a large swimming pool. The team looking after the guests were absolutely friendly and helpful. The hotel food is cheap and delicious with a good selection. I would recommend this hotel for any family stay."

"Amazing location! Right in the heart of Luxor, with the restaurant having the most amazing views of the Luxor temple and avenue of the sphinxes. The hotel is also situated in the city center, which was a joy to explore and walk around. Exceptional staff, Our housekeeper, Alaa, definitely put a smile on our face! Finally, the rooftop with swimming pool was an excellent added bonus to our stay"

"Five star rooftop—2 star basic rooms Hotel was recently renovated/ opened a couple of years ago. But room shows a lot of wear and tear and sheets and towels are very worn. But that rooftop is amazing— the views, the pool, the lounge areas. It’s clear they put a lot of investment in that. Excellent boat with friendly staff

"We booked the Royal Lily through Hotels.com rather than as part of a wider tour. The whole experience was excellent from start to finish. I would strongly recommend travelling with Movenpick if you are visiting Egypt independently rather than as part of a tour. There are very few reviews for Movenpick Royal Lily so I'll try and give as much information as I can. Airport pick up We arranged a pick up via Movenpick, which meant we were on board and settled in by 10.30am. A bit pricey but worth it. Food and drink Reasonably priced drinks and a good selection. All meals and afternoon tea included daily. Excellent buffet selection. Staff Incredibly helpful and friendly. They helped us organise a trip to Abu Simbel on our last day, Guide There is a guide employed by Movenpick. Ours was Amr and he was excellent. Almost all other customers were on tours, so there was just us and two others with Amr. He was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Activities There is a good range of visits to sites, including to all the main sites. We had plenty of time to explore and it was all included in the cost. On board activities There was something different every night, with staff making a real effort to make the trip memorable. Facilities There are plenty of spaces on the boat to relax. The top deck is enormous with loads of beds around the pool. The pool was about 5 foot deep with a very shallow section at one end. I have seen comments that the decor is tired, but it was fine. "
