"I was planning on camping a couple of nights near Keswick, weather not looking good for a late arrival so decided to stay at Derwentwater Hotel... so glad I did! - At check in I was greeted in a really professional manner, in the bar the staff were super friendly! That was my opening night. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic, set me up fuel wise for my planned ascent of Skiddaw (walking past a farm I camped at 47 years ago on my first Scout Camp!!) My hike up Skiddaw, descending to Keswick...

Only 2 things that where bit of issue was £10 a day parking at hotel, which was extra think for the money you pay to stay, it should be included. The hotel spa wasn’t working due to refurbishment but didn’t know about it until we arrived ."

However one reason i booked this hotel was of the spa facilities, which were disappointing, the sauna and steam room were poor temperature wise, and the indoor pool was quite cool. "Lovely hotel and lovely friendly owners who even greeted us on arrival . Lovely location however felt the place itself was a bit tired looking …. No nice toiletries and all the coffee sachets had sugar in . We couldn’t see the stunning view due to excess condensation to the inside of the window. There was no bath plug either . "

"We have stayed at Ravenstone Manor previously and have found the service to be excellent. Ravenstone is a very dog friendly hotel (so be prepared to see dogs even in the dining areas - the meals are excellent). The hotel is always kept clean and tidy and the views are breathtaking. Staff are friendly and the service is second to none. If you have a dog or just a dog lover, I would highly recommend Ravenstone Manor. Walks in the area are plentiful and scenery is amazing."
