checked in on Friday evening and was told that the elevator was not working (staying on 6th floor). then found out it hadn't been working since Wednesday. the hotel had ample time to let us (and other guests) know about this situation but clearly misled people to avoid justifiable cancellations. no discount or other compensation offered. about as poor a scenario as I have ever seen.

The majority of guests is Asian student; Can smell their cooking. The tivi is extremely old with 2 up/down buttons remote controller. The feeling is depressing.

Staff were friendly and allowed us to check in early. After dropping our bags in the room we were out all day. When we returned it became clear this would not be considered a "premium room" by any reasonable person. Marks on the walls, a musty smell - caused by what looks like a serious mould problem hidden behind a chair - water faucets that screamed when we used them, dirty cups. We only needed a place to sleep so we didn't bother requesting a different room, but i would certainly be very cautious booking here. Bed was super comfy!

I see why it was discounted
Good location for Southern Cross Station but if you paid full price it would be well over priced for what you get. Rooms on the smaller side but ok. The lift and door lock card system is temperamental causing visits to reception a few times. Room not that clean and dated but at least the linen was fresh and clean. Only saving grace is its location.

We found this property very convenient to stay if you want to be close to stadiums and train stations and just wanting a one night stay! Very noisy, and lots of construction going on around the place. Good value and the added bonus of the trams very close, great shopping very close by.

As a single female this did not feel a safe place to stay at times. While the location was good, being down a darker alley with lots of construction going on meant it was tricky to feel safe coming or going, particularly after dark. The signage on the front didn’t look much at all like the pictures online and even the name was hard to decipher. When I got there there was only 1 person working behind the desk and was getting slammed. Although at times they were on their mobile phone while people were waiting. The security deposit asks for $200 at check in, a male before me was asked to put this down, while two others in line were only asked for $100. There seemed to be difficulty with this, as people were not able to tap their card, only insert. This made the process much longer. The cleanliness of the room was really poor, the vent on the shower looked like it had never been cleaned and there was a lot of dust and mould around the furniture. The bed seemed clean enough but the blankets were quite thin and there weren’t any additional in the cupboard. There wasn’t any conditioner in the bathroom and the hair dryer made a lot of sounds when turned on, maki no it not safe to use.

Excellent value for money. Location is perfect, right in the middle of the city. Staff were friendly and efficient. Had a late check in (12am) and it was no problem at all. Would stay here again for convenience. The room was tidy and bathroom clean. The hallways did look a little run down but we did not spend too much time at the hotel anyways. Housekeeping was great:)
