"An unusual and historically interesting house. Our stay was fabulous. The buffet cooked breakfast was disappointing as the fried eggs and mushrooms were dry and the latter over salted. Had we been told at our arrival at the restaurant that there was an option of a bespoke cooked breakfast, we would have chosen that. Otherwise a lovely overnight stay and the staff were friendly. "

"It was empty in the lead up to Christmas, so breakfast was cooked to order rather than buffet style. Was surprised that guests were put next door to each other rather than spread out so heard the odd bit of corridor noise. We normally stay in the cheapest Premier Inn/Travelodge type hotel when in the area, but enjoyed the lobby space more than I thought and was worth paying that little bit more for. "

"We loved our stay at Rowton hall, our room was a master suite with a separate lounge which was great to relax before bed. Breakfast was good plenty to choose from, we had 1 dinner which was very good again plenty of choice. "Stayed with my other half for a 2 night Xmas break, positives was location to the city centre, good sized room, efficient check-in process and breakfast (£12 each), good shower, iron and ironing board, negatives..bar only open on the Saturday night, room needs some tlc (209), towel rail didn’t work, dust in many areas of the room, would be a 2nd choice if other hotels we stay at are fully booked (Abode, Crowne Plaza)."
