A hiking buddy and I (both in our 70s) spent one night there on our way to King’s Canyon. It’s an interesting, different sort of place and it worked out well for us. It’s rustic and pretty spartan (some would even say crude) but it had everything we needed…small fridge, microwave, Keurig-style coffee maker, a couple of space heaters that did the job (we were there in chilly mid-October). We’d read some of the bad reviews about the place, with dirty conditions, bugs and other critters, etc. and we found none of that. The place was clean, no bugs or critters, the mattresses were quite comfortable, the bathroom was clean and tidy with good water pressure, etc. A couple of other pluses: it was very quiet there and it’s very convenient to King’s Canyon. It has an amazing number of electrical plugs, so you’ll have no trouble charging all your devices. A few negatives: there is no kitchen sink, so you’ll need to wash dishes in the bathroom and there was little in the way of kitchen supplies. We didn’t find any silverware, only one plate (though plenty of coffee cups) and little else…best to bring that sort of stuff yourself. The place could also use a bit more inside lighting. We arrived after dark and had trouble finding the place but the restaurant staff helped us. All in all, the place worked well for us and was a fair deal for the price. You just need to be prepared for what you’ll get – it’s not the Hilton, but it was clean, comfortable and convenient.

Great area, great atmoshphere, nice cabin overall, but the cleaniness was very poor regardless of location ie: spiders, cobwebs, corner of rug by bunkbeds and room, dirty bedding, bathroom counter not clean.

We were a family of 6 travelling in Sequoia Park. The cabin is rustic but very functionnal even for 6. The place is quiet, it s very easy to access to the park and the landlord is very nice and helpful with guests. And the restaurant is excellent after a long day hike ! The price for value is very good in this area.

When we arrived we couldn’t find this place. It literally looks like an abandoned place. Some furniture was broken The window air conditioner didn’t work well The screen door was busted and hanging open . Bunk beds were unsafe to have a person sleeping on top No drinking water Used paint cans and trash out front Rusted chairs and broken chairs at the front porch Felt so unsafe in this area It was straight out of a horror movie

Perfect getaway!
This cabin gives you the authentic mountain experience with just the right amount of creature comforts (AC, plenty of hot water, etc.) The owner is present and available, and willing to go above and beyond to make sure guests are comfortable. Awesome experience, would love to stay here again sometime!

Sequoia Park cabin
This property did not measure up to VBRO standards. First of all, the road to the cabin from the park was closed and we found out it was closed at the time we made the reservation, with no notice from the host. The Rd 245 route was 5 miles, the detour was over an hour drive on very slow going curvy roads in the wilderness. When we arrived we noticed the outdoor electrical power box was completely open to the elements. My husband, who worked with these boxes wondered how it even continued to work. The wood burner stove had an out of order sign, and there were 2 space heaters provided. I saw no smoke detector. Things appeared to be generally clean. There was no wifi, no tv reception, but a TV and DVD player were provided. However there was no remote to fully control all options on the DVD player. When I washed some plastic flatware we had with us, I suddenly found water running out on the bathroom floor. I discovered there was a bucket under the sink drainpipe and the water seemed to go directly into the bucket. There was no real kitchen with sink and stove top. The saving grace was the grill and bar next door. The sweet young lady serving as bartender was extremely helpful and cheerful! Oh also we killed a big black beetle in the cabin and found another one in my shoe in the morning when I put my foot in the shoe. I do not believe this cabin was up to VRBO Standards.

The cabin is quiet and the bedding was good. The restraunt has good food and a warm vibe. The waitres at the bar, Sally, was kind and attentive. She also doubled as the manager of the cabin. There were problems with the toilet, 2 broken chairs, and bad wifi. When we notified her, she took immediate action to notify the owner and a handyman was sent out to repair the toiilet. Overall, the property needs work and it would help to have a kitchenet with running water.
