We arrived on Sunday. The room had a mold and extreme cleaning chemical smell (possibly to hide the mold??). Note: we only got our room at 6pm! We told the front desk staff and they checked and agreed but advised that no rooms were available.
They moved us to a room for the night temporarily on the other side of the hotel (a 1.5 hours process). The next morning we had to return the room keys and leave our stuff in the locker and wait for a new room which was not ready till 4pm. So we basically had 2 days without a room. Upon return, we contacted Expedia who advised that the hotel is refusing to provide any compensation for this inconvenience which has left a bitter taste.. Moving on:
Food Quality: Great food selection and great quality.
Beach: Good beach though it's narrower than your typical beaches in Cuba / Dominican, etc.
Customer Service: Very poor whether it was dealing with the above issue or just general service at various places in the resort.
Food / Bar service: Poor. We never ended up getting the same drink throughout our stay. Every different bar / bartender would make drinks based on their own taste and there was a lot of inconsistency.
Rooms: Definitely not 5-star quality! The rooms were more comparable to a 3-star room. Not very clean, new, no separate body wash / shampoo, no lotion and old furniture.
