"Suite with two beds and two bathrooms was such a perfect set up for my husband and I with our two small kids. Nothing like putting the babies to sleep and then having a lovely bedroom with a couch and a fireplace to hang out together for the rest of the evening. As all parents who have traveled with kids know - putting kids to bed and then having to sit in a dark hotel room being quiet after they go to sleep is such a bummer. This hotel suite was pretty much perfect and avoided that completely!...

The neighborhood is incredibly quiet and nestled in the Skyline Forest area of Monterey. The roads and driveways can be steep, but the views are amazing. "We liked everything about this classic, updated motel. Service was friendly and helpful. Parking was easy. We had a standard, amply-sized room with a fireplace as a bonus, at an affordable rate. Feels like a mid-century California coastal motel, in a row of similar places down the road. It was a little bit of a walk, not terrible, to the downtown and Cannery Row locations. We walked throughout of our 3-day stay without trouble. We'd stay at the Arbor Inn again to visit lovely Monterey."

When we did arrive after 6 hours in the car they would let us use a restroom and it would be 3 hours until check in. The woman kept adding a day to my stay.
