Owasco Lake Vacation rental for 1- 2 Guests ! Sleeps 2 maximum.
We both have been vaccinated. There is no need to interact during your stay-Self check-in. If you want more details before booking, just ask. We always do our best to help. Our reviews help tell the story. We are close to a 5 rating and have over 130 reviews. We are always looking for improvements to the Rental. We are making outdoor cosmetic repairs and parking area upgrades. This should not impact your stay. Hope you don't think the contactless check in , makes us unwelcoming 🙂. Unique Space! Located on the east side of Owasco Lake. GREAT views of the Lake and Sunsets. One Bedroom Queen bed with Bathroom and fully furnished Kitchen. Private entrance, this is a dedicated space on the second level [13 steps] of our Home. We respect your privacy. We only interact as YOU wish. We can say Hello or help with area info, whatever you wish.
STEPS to the Lake, yes you must be willing to walk to and from the Lake if you want to enjoy the water close-up.. This space is not for everyone. It takes some effort to go to and from the beach area with the steps. Nice dock on the lake front, great for boating have 4- Kayaks for your enjoyment, swimming and more lake use activities. I have 14’ aluminum boat and a canoe also for your use. Fire pit for your evening enjoyment, Yes -I have wood for you.
All new construction, One New Queen bed. Kitchen is ready to go, just bring some food. We supply coffee for our new coffee maker. Deck and Gas Grill for your use. In the unit you will find hand soap, kitchen/bath paper products, nice clean linens, and towels for your stay. All your other needs are just a few miles away-10 miles from Skaneateles and Auburn, 7 miles from Moravia and Fillmore Glen State park. 40 minutes from Syracuse, Waterloo outlet mall and Seneca Falls new Casino. Wine trails within a 40 min. drive in many directions. Many Golf Courses in the area. Off road biking nearby. Montezuma wildlife refuge 20 miles away, Birding, Hiking. Just Ask. Lovely getaway!
We were the first guests of the season and our hosts were wonderful! The space is smallish and clean with a comfy bed and excellent a/c. It was just enough space for my husband and I. The apartment is right on the lake and has a fantastic view. Nothing is super close out there (as is the case with most of the Finger Lakes region), but there are some great restaurants in the nearby towns, beautiful state parks and tons of water activities. Highly recommend staying at Carmella and Rod's place!

Amazing view with a cozy vibe
We had such a great time for our two night getaway. The space was clean, cozy, and equipped with everything we would have needed. We spent the day on the dock, fishing, swimming, and relaxing. The view of the lake was so beautiful. We didn’t want to leave.

Lovely stay in a beautiful area
We wanted a base to explore the finger lakes region in general. This place was ideal. The unit had everything we needed amenities-wise, a lovely view of the lake, access to kayaks and a boat, and a warm and welcoming host and hostess. We took day trips to Skaneateles (15 minutes) and Ithaca (40 minutes) and recommend both. We will certainly consider staying here again in the future.

Beautiful countryside oasis
Centrally located to 19 different water falls, it was the perfect place for my wife and i to become familiar with one another again. Away from the monotony of day to day life. Rod and Carm are wonderful hosts, you couldn't ask for a friendlier couple to be your host and have opened their space for all to enjoy. Oh and the sunsets are awe inspiring.

Perfect getaway after SU drop off
Rod and Carm are wonderful gracious hosts. The room exceeded our expectations. Clean, light, airy, and comfortable. We read the description and reviews and knew what to expect with lake access. I’m stair phobic lol so was perfectly happy sitting on the deck to enjoy the breathtaking views. Looking forward to our next stay!

The perfect get away spot!
This VRBO was one of the best we have stayed at! Rod and Carm were friendly and helpful. They provided everything we needed and the use of their kayaks/canoes was a major bonus. The house has was perfectly clean, very comfortable and I loved that we had everything we needed to cook our own food, including a grill! The location was perfect- off the beaten path right on the lake yet close to Skaneateles and the Cayuga Wine Trail. We really loved it here!

Perfect getaway!
It was a perfect getaway for my husband and me. Although, it is a second floor of the house where Rodney and his family lives, you get absolute feeling of the privacy. The room has everything that is needed and when we ask for more items (bucket for fishing, extra blanket) Rodney was providing us with everything upon our request. It is very peaceful and the views are breathtaking.

Rain,. rain go away!
Although the weather did not cooperate, we were able to spend time with friends during our rainy stay visiting the local wineries & breweries! The dock was completely flooded so no boating this trip! The rain also contributed to the challenge of moving in and out of this upstairs room. We relied heavily on the outdoor lighting to help us navigate! Although not the most convenient place to stay, we certainly enjoyed the view of Lake Owasco!

Great Views and Hospitalable Hosts But Needs Some Maintenance
Many of the positives have been shared in previous posts. Hospitable hosts and good communication. Full kitchen. Reasonable price for the season. Those amenities in a "fancier setting would be at least double the price. Lakefront view, though sunset was blocked by neighbors trees. The inside was clean, but in need of some maintenance. When working at higher capacity the air conditioner fan sounded like someone was cracking paper loudly The faucet in the kitchen sink was missing a part resulting in always being in "Spray" mode and getting ones midsection soaked whenever it was used. The coffe maker took over an hour to brew an 8 cup pot! The condition of the exterior property and grounds was actually more of an issue for me. Let me preface this by stating that I recognize that everyone has different standards and different things that bother them. I am particular about things being clean, neat and tidy. . . Dirt and clutter makes me unneasy. When fist arriving at the property, I almost turned around and left. Walking to the room didn't make me feel any more comfortable. The property had heaps of junk in piles around the garage and pathway to the house. Vegetation was overgrown and the yard was mostly weeds, not grass. We didn't sit outside on the small deck much because of the need for a good power washing and general lack of aesthetics (peeling paint on wood, chicken wire between posts, spider webs). The neghbors house, which was less than 10 feet from the deck area, was in even more need of repair and maintenance. The long walk from parking,, along with steep and narrow stairs up to the unit made loading and unloading quite a chore! Other posters and the owner have provided details about the stairs down to the dock and lake. If you are more of a naturalist, this property is probably a good choice. If you prefer a neatly manicured property, you might want to look elsewhere! Recognizing these differences of opinion, reasonable price, and the good hosts are why I am giving this 4 stars, instead of a much lower rating based in my personal opinion of property.

Cozy house and amazing location

Relaxing quiet yet close to other lakes, wineries and historical sites
Owners very easy to talk with , very welcoming. Rental view is gorgeous, beautiful view to wake up to every morning and sunsets in the evening. Accommodations comfortable and very clean. Would highly recommend.
