"Le temps n'étant de la partie (pluie et fraîcheur , 18/20° dans la journée et 6/8° la nuit ) Jean François et son épouse nous ont proposé gentillement d utiliser le chauffage. malgré tout avec les quelques rayons de soleil l environnement est superbe . Nombreuses visites de, la region : Bibracte et son Mont , l'abbaye de la pierre qui vire , Autun etc. Nous sommes malgré le temps content de notre sejour. "

"The photos don’t do the small house justice. The owners are both lovely and go out their way to help you make your stay, the most enjoyable it can be. The views are fabulous and theres no mention of the long and short walks, that start 50m from the property, travelling through the Forrest and finishing at a pub/restaurant 1km from the accommodation."

"The house is located rural, next to a unpaved road en a small stream. It is not luxury but wel equipped and comfortable. It offer a lot value for money. Due to the trees it is relatively cool on hot summer days. In Lormes , which has a nice atmosphere, there are supermarket, several good shops for food and some cafe’s. The surrounding is suited for some shorter day trips and for walking. For cooling down on hot days there is a small lake at a 15 minutes walk from the house"

"Mon frère et moi avons passés un agréable séjour de pêche, dans ce chalet lumineux. Tout équipé, bonne literies. Une belle vue sur la vallée . Des propriétaires très gentils et réactifs . Le parking est assez large pour faire demi-tour et stationner un petit fourgon avec remorque et zodiac. A 10 min du lac de Crescent, 20 min du lac de Chaumeçon. A 15 min environ Quarré les tombes, petite supérette, pharmacie (excellente pharmacienne!), bar, restaurants, etc... 1 semaine de déconnexion...

"We enjoyed our stay in Panneçot very much and were delighted to communicate with Dominique, who was calm, practical and very helpful, thank you Dominique. The cottage is in an ideal location. Everyone slept soundly and we enjoyed tractors going past the doorstep and giving a wave in the morning. A small note - I have left enough toilet paper for the next guests. Not possible to buy in the little hamlet and with families, maybe good to err on side of generous..."

It did help that my husbands mum and step dad speak fluently french as we may have struggled a bit otherwise with instructions regarding the spa and other bits. The pool was great and the house had plenty of room for the 12 of us. I think if anymore were staying you would need to be prepared to stay on the sofas that change into beds in common areas. "Un très bon séjour au sein de ce logement ! Fred est très sympathique et le logement était parfaitement adapté pour la famille (petit bémol sur le manque de casseroles mais c'est un détail). Nous y étions tellement bien que nous sommes finalement très peu sorti du logement ! L'extérieur est bien aménagé, les équipements de loisirs sont présents et la maison est grande et confortable. Je recommande à 100% et nous comptons bien y retourner !"

"Amazing gîte, everything you need for a relaxing and stress free holiday. Super peaceful location and the pool is an especially welcome escape from the heat. Despite being attached to the owners residence we barely knew they were there! Overall, one of the best equipped properties we have stayed in, well thought out, comfy beds, great hosts and super location and views We had one of our best family holidays at Gîte Hauteloup!"

"Five 60ish cycling fans visiting for the Tour De France. Excellent property in a beautiful area especially if you are interested in cycling / hiking. Only down side is the opening days and times of local restaurants which caught us out a bit but the house is very well equipped and as we are all keen cooks then this wasn't a problem for us but may be for some. Not that much to do for kids. All in all an excellent trip and I would highly recommend the property for a similar group of people."

"We were driving from Bordeaux to Frankfurt and chose this hotel from Expedia’s site on a Friday because it had onsite parking and a restaurant. After checking in the receptionist told us (a) the hotel’s parking area was not safe so we should not leave any bags in the car and (b) the restaurant was closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday ! We couldn’t get a refund but we found another hotel a few kms away with a secure parking lot and two restaurants, so we relocated. "

Beautiful and special property

"We were all buzzing around with excitement at this property when we arrived. The kids thought it was incredible! It's such an old building, full of history and not spoiled in its renovation, it was still so characterful. The kids loved that we restricted the flow of the water at night to quieten it down, and then released it every morning - we got lucky as the water wheel does not always turn but we got some movement out of it! The house is rustic, and not full of mod-cons, but it had pretty much everything we needed. The outside eating area was lovely for bbqs, and the garden lovely and big for games. The house has a lovely mezzanine library level at the top that the kids enjoyed relaxing in. We really enjoyed visiting Guedelon, a castle that is being built from scratch in medieval style, using only crafts and skills from that period in history, it was truly a fabulous day out. Lovely villages to visit in the area are Vezelay, a very pretty and ancient village up on a hilltop, and we also loved Druyes-les-Belles-Fontaines with its castle overlooking the village with the river and waterways routed all through the streets. So pretty. It's a drive to a shop or Patisserie from the house and unfortunately the patisserie was shut for the week we were there, but the supermarket in Varzy had everything we needed. We also visited Clemecy a couple of times to explore the shops and old buildings, and watch the boats going through the canal locks. Thank you for a wonderful week. "
