Five beds in a single room, with wallpaper peeling off, and all sorts of weird attempts at “renovation.” For the price, could be good for five backpackers. "We absolutely loved our stay at Lucky Duck Cabin! Hosts were a dream to work with. They helped us with other questions about the area and tips on other tours. We rented their van while there and it was a champ in the snow. Normal rental cars would not have made the trek up to the resorts. The cabin was so fun and quaint in a beautiful location. "The rooms were excellent, the craftsmanship excellent, the ambience excellent, Service was excellent. The only thing I would recommend, especially if it’s a last minute reservation, work with the owners on transportation. If you want to stay out late in Nozawa, they will work with you, but it’s hard to get a taxi back, especially on the weekends later at night. You might have to end up walking haha 😂"

"Upon arriving at the hotel, I realized I left my belt bag which contained everything important (credit cards, driver license, passport, literally all the money I brought). There was a female staff with a fringe who was so kind and patient. She helped me track down the train we were on and followed up with the train staff when it had reached its final destination. This was around 12 pm since we wanted to drop off luggage. We got back to the hotel to check in on the status of my bag and she informed us it was at a city 1 hr away by Shinkansen. She looked up the departure/arrival times for roundtrip and we were able to get it same day. When we were in our room dropping off our luggage first, a male staff who was also looped in called and said they'll bring up a note to show anyone at the station directing where our bag was. Less than a minute later, that same man was at our door OUT OF BREATH. I was so shocked because he came up insanely fast. That's amazing service!!! We also wanted to ship 1 of our 2 large luggages to our hotel in Tokyo. They were able to take care of that and the cost was extremely reasonable. The room itself was large compared to other Japanese hotels I've stayed in. Everything was in working order and there was ample bathroom counter space which I love. Clean as well. Location cannot be beat. Right next to Nagano Station/direct access to the station, and right by the bus stop too. Very near a Donki and many eateries. Highly recommend. "

"Very closed to the bus station, which was about 5 mins walk. The hotel is building with old architecture, but with modern updates. It was an easy check-in process. Our room was really nice and spacious. The room was clean, but my blank had a small stain on the blanket. The wifi is really good. There is a public onsen on the lower floor for guests to enjoy. We reserved a 45 mins private onsen for 3200 yen. It was well worth it! The room was roomy and clean. It has a private shower and bathroom. The we enjoyed our private onsen. Very relaxing. Highly recommend. Some tips. Don't walk in the hotel with your shoes or sneakers. There are sandals that you can walk outside the streets with. It's located in the lockers with the keys when you entered the hotel. If you want to walk around the hotel you can walk with your socks or the staff can you give a sandals. Breakfast is a buffet. Limited selections, and you have to make a time slot rsvp. They bar closed around 10pm. We loved our one night stayed. We would come back again!"
