Comfortable Studio Apartment

Nestled on 77 acres, enjoy watching the horses in pastures or the deer in the hay field. Enjoy a walk on trails or bring your horse for a trail ride. 30min from Freeport shopping (LL Bean). Separate entrance, laundry (for guests staying 5 or more days), and kitchen. Must love animals. We have 3 dogs and 2 cats and live above the apartment. We do our best to keep them quite but just want people aware if looking for complete tranquility we may not be the best fit.

The owners were very friendly and nice. We enjoyed the privacy and very much enjoyed all their animals. Because of our age walking down the hill to the door was a little challenging in the dark but we should have brought a flashlight. The light on my phone wasn’t enough. Being a country girl myself I felt at home.

The property is on a farm with very friendly outdoor cats, and a lovely views of the fields. There's no road noise, and its great for walks outside. It was pretty easy to come and go, and the kitchen meant we could cook dinner without having to spend on takeout (always a bonus!) Overall Absolutely lovely!

A hidden gem

This is such a lovely place!! The property is exquisite and the apartment is just perfect. Tessa stocked it with pretty much any amenity you could need, including a phone charger. I especially love that the Houghs are pet lovers. I’m hoping to be back next year.

Quiet country location
I came to Maine for work and found this rental close by. I’m very happy I did. Location was beautiful and apartment was larger than I expected. The owners were very welcoming and responsive to any questions I had. Checkin and checkout were very easy and the place was immaculate. Thanks to Teresa and husband for being great hosts.

Very pleasant owners. We got a chance to talk with them and visit the farm. Gorgeous walk around the farm. The dogs upstairs were very quiet. Bed was comfortable. Nice and spacious for two. Lewiston and Auburn are easy to get to.

Charming Country Setting
We loved the location and the apartment. It is located in the basement of the house. It is very clean. It has a washer and dryer, a super comfy bed and all appliances and dishes in the kitchen. The only thing we wished it had was another comfy chair in the living room area. The hosts were very accommodating. We would definitely go back here.

Beautiful setting
We were in Maine for a wedding which was on Sebago Lake. We needed a place that would accept pets, and this was as close as we could get. It turned out to be perfect for us. The apartment was clean and convenient, and our hosts were gracious in letting us look around the property and visit with the horses. There was plenty of space for our elderly dog to get some gentle exercise and we really enjoyed the scenery. It was about 45 minutes from where the wedding was, but we ultimately didn't mind because it gave us a chance to see some of the beautiful Maine countryside.

Great place to stay for animal lovers
Apartment is on a beautiful farm setting. Teresa is very welcoming as are all the animals (horses, dogs, cats… and I think I heard goats!) Studio is well laid out, plenty of amenities, one queen bed, one twin bed, and a couch that looks like it can also convert into a bed. I slept in the queen bed and it was very comfortable. My daughter came to visit me (Bates student) and she ended up napping in the twin (so I’m assuming it was pretty comfortable too). Air conditioning worked great and was much appreciated. This studio apartment is in close proximity to Bates College and makes for a great place to stay when visiting. I had such a relaxing stay!

Visiting our Son in Auburn.
We stayed at Teresa and Ken's beautiful studio apartment for 9 nights. We had come over to America from England, for the first time, to visit our Son who has a soccer scholarship at Central Maine Community College in Auburn. This was the most amazing 9 days in New Gloucester at Taildragger Stables. Teresa had thought of everything from the treats on arrival to the property, to everything you could possibly need in the home including hair dryer, hair straighteners, spare toothbrushes, toiletries, coffee machine etc. This was complete 'home from home'. The apartment was very warm, comfortable and welcoming and they had done everything possible to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. I would absolutely recommend this property, and really hope we can return one day. Our Son particularly loved their cat that came in for attention, and we enjoyed pottering around the stables looking at the horses, goats and pony. This was a great area for relaxing and also exploring - Boston, Freeport, Portland, Kennebunkport, Camden, Salem - the list is endless! I am missing the views we woke up to each morning now we are home! Thanks for the most amazing stay!
