Nikko Senhime Monogatari
3.5 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (59)
"Nikko was a great respite from the big cities, and Senhime was the perfect spot to refresh -- a beautiful and spacious room that faced the mountain and river, wonderful staff, excellent food, lovely indoor and outdoor bath. You come away feeling pampered. Its location is also excellent -- situated in a historic residential area that's an easy walk to the Nikko historic district, the imperial summer villa, the Kanmangafuchi Trail, and a botanic garden. The only issue we had was communicating...

Nikko Hoshinoyado
3.5 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (84)
"Good typical Japanese experience with futon on the floor and a shared onsen for bath and shower. Location is good but be warned the town doesn’t seem to get a lot of overnight visitors so there is slim pickings for dinner. The breakfast was very traditional Japanese. Lots of things you’ve not tried before and some a little peculiar. "

3.5 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (34)
"The dinner they serve was really great, one of the best among all my onsen pass experience. But the condition of the hotel is really old. Non of the staff can speak simple English , too hard to communicate."

Hotel Seikoen
3.0 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (42)
"Hotel is very close to all the world heritage sites right across from the parking lots. Walking distance to sites and train station The half board option is very nice. Dinner served in the room There is onsen on premise The hotel is somewhat older but that maybe part of its charm. We chose to stay in Japanese style room with tatami floor. The futon was much more comfortable than I thought. "

"a very nice quiet hotel with inside and outside onsen. Enjoyed the view from the balcony."
Kinugawa Kanaya Hotel
Annex Turtle HOTORI-AN
3.0 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (139)
"Beautiful setting in wonderful part of Japan. Traditional Japanese hotel...bed/futon bed a little too hard for my western back. Spa was lovely, as was the owner... who couldn't be more friendly or helpful (typical of almost Japanese). Nikko seems quite 'dead' at night. Perhaps we were too late or missing something but struggled to get anything to eat in the evening. "
