"Our stay at Palacio de Pujadas was nothing less than GREAT. We arrived one day later due a flight delay and they were very nice understanding and accommodating. We asked an extra fan to our room bc it was really warm and in less 10 min the fan was there. All the staff work together as a team as they share the reception and the bar/restaurant and they are simply amazing, all of them. I don't speak Spanish and they tried to help any chance they had. Highly Highly recommend."

"Unfortunately surly reception when her attention could be attracted. Had rung to be assured of Car parking space, very awkward and took two clickers to even get the gate open. The bath was rusty and with two large chips the walls were marked a bedspread torn the whole place was very much in need of care and attention. "

"No one there to check me in at check in time so I called after 30 minutes of waiting.. the lady showed me a room that had an adjoining shared bathroom but had no door to the bedroom so anyone could wander in! Then eventually took me to a more suitable room.. when I asked if my Camino buddy could use one bed (there were 3)! She requested an extra €50!!! The room cost me €48 so we declined!! Decor was very tired and shabby but better than some of the municipal albergues.."

"It is NOT in Los Arco's. You cannot walk the 2 miles because it is on the highway and is illegal and dangerous. No one speaks English. They claim to have a free shuttle service to town, they do not. They lied about the free taxi. They got the times wrong about what they said was a free shuttle/ taxi. Kept everyone waiting in reception for 45 minutes for the service to town on the morning. "Julian's property is a 3 level townhouse on the edge of a lovely old town Viana. Very convenient for touring around the various wineries of Rioja. Comfortable house with all usual facilities and a pleasant garden to sit out in. Although lacking a kettle on arrival, Julian delivered one very quickly which was appreciated. I would suggest that a map or written notes on the precise location of the property would be welcome for new arrivals. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Julian was most helpful...
