"The house is nice with an amazing view. Had all we needed for a great stay. Waking up to the beautiful lake and mountain views was great. My kids also loved the place, there are sheep right next to the property and all the way up the mountain, the loved calling to the sheep. The owner is really nice and also close by if there are any problems (we had no problems). I’d definitely recommend this place."

"The cottage is located in an area where you can discover many beautiful areas by car. The cottage has all the bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and living room on the ground floor. The upper floor is locked. It is a bit damp so bring your thick socks. Electricity was a bit of a hassle for us but there was 2 euro coins provided for us to use in the meter. "This house is set up perfectly for adults traveling with their school aged kids. Separate lounges with multiple doors in between allow for privacy and quiet. The only slight discomfort is the heat pump/sump pump that runs often but at uneven intervals. You soon learn to tune it out, but it can be distracting at first. Beautiful and comfortable home."

"The Walsh's home is a perfect haven. Everything was exactly as noted with beautiful details to all the remodeling done. The location is on a relatively quiet road that is about 2 miles from end to end and makes a perfect walk in the AM or PM. You may have a few sheep or others who demand a photo or two. Short distance to Cong and Ballinrobe, Oughterard, and Maam area are lovely to explore. Michael stays in contact as needed as well as gives you space to explore. I will return, hopefully!"

Mary the house keeper/property manager does a great job of keeping it clean and tidy but there are serious things that need addressing in order to maintain the house: the house has damp - stained peeling wallpaper shows this, as do the mushrooms growing out the beam by the front door. I'd urge the owner to get this under control before it takes hold of the property. A few features in the description are untrue: there is no games...

"We had a love stay on the outskirts of Oughterard! The property was quiet and remote and very enjoyable! Only thing I would say is we were a little confused on how to access the property at first because the address given stops at the cottages. I would also have liked the property manager to be more responsive, but the local contact was very helpful! Over all, this stay was great and will be incredibly memorable for a long time!"
