One thing, one of the mattresses was rock solid — the owners should invest in at least a mattress topper. "What a gem! I was nervous about the virtual front desk but it worked out wonderfully. They allowed me to check in early which was a blessing on a cold January day! The room was compact but well put together. Great to have a fridge, tea, microwave and sound machine. I was able to make the room nice and warm during the day and cool at night to sleep. Also - the sheets smelled wonderful. My only suggestion is to allow the shower water to get hotter. Five stars!!"

"This hotel is so supremely located right next-door to Grand Central Station. You can literally go anywhere from this hotel almost without going outside. It is scheduled to be demolished soon which will be a huge loss. The rates are unbelievably reasonable."

"Everything to experience new york is right there. Times square is walkable. The subway system can be learned easily there. And the expierience of new york food and its authenticity can be expieirienced at any of the markets nearby. I highly advise any first time travelers to go to this hotel."

"We came to the city for a quick getaway. This hotel was just a couple blocks from Penn Station. We got off the LIRR and easily walked to the hotel. It was super clean and staff was friendly. We were an early arrival so they took our luggage and we were off exploring the city while our room was readied. Everything we wanted to do was only a half mile or closer to the hotel. The black out curtain allowed for a great sleep and the bed was comfortable. We would definitely stay again. "
