"This is an older hotel, but well maintained. My room was small, but perfectly good for one person. It might be a bit tight for two people, but probably OK. Bathroom had been remodelled and was modern and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. They are remodelling the bar currently, but the small bar was very nice and opened out onto a nice veranda overlooking the harbour and with views of the Whitby Abbey on the other side. The dining room is large and very lovely. Good breakfast included with my booking. The location is fantastic, with waterfront location and terrific views. Definitely would stay here again."

"Lovely clean room, comfy bed. Ate in the bar & enjoyed a nice meal, friendly staff in bar area. It was not warm enough to sit in the garden but in warmer weather there were plenty of tables outside in a nice spacious garden. Hotel is situated away from the centre of whitby but is very handy for the park & ride bus service which works out much cheaper than using the town car parks. "

"This is a lovely hotel simple but with splendidly large sized rooms - mine had an en-suite bathroom and a big double bed. With wonderful views of the castle and church across the road. Well worth a visit. For cleanliness, politeness of staff and facilities it is definitely worth the cheap price I paid for two nights….. Top marks AAA***** "

"What an absolute gem! Booked this for 1 night with my husband for a chilled night after a night in Scarborough, OMG how relaxing it was. Definitely worth a visit. Food was very nice, views are amazing. Rooms are so cute and we had a surprise little outside balcony from our room. Perfect night for us, we will most definitely be recommending and returning.
