The Keeper's Apartment at the Lighthouse offers you a romantic 1 bedroom, 1 bath home with a queen bedroom, living room, dining room and fully stocked kitchen. Have your morning coffee on you private patio looking out at Manchester State Beach and the Pacific ocean. Our property also has some of the most spectacular ocean views in the world on 23 private acres. This is not a pet-friendly unit.
The space
The Keeper's Apartment at the lighthouse is a one bedroom, one bath home with a comfortable living room and a full kitchen with a dining area. Flat screen TV with DishTV, DVD player with copies of the movies that have been filmed at the Lighthouse and excellent high speed WiFi are included. You are welcome to use the bistro table and chairs on your private flagstone patio outside of the kitchen and dining room. The home comfortably accommodates two adults and the kitchen is stocked accordingly with pots & pans, utensils, mixing bowls, cutting boards, measuring cups, coffee maker, toaster, etc. We provide salt and pepper, bring your own spices, cooking oils, foil, plastic wrap and/or storage containers. The Pacific Ocean is out your front and back doors, the coastal mountain range and Manchester State Beach are just to the east and you are only a few steps away from the Point Arena Light Station Store. Enjoy unparalleled views of the rugged North Coast from all windows. The Apartment is a comfortably furnished home with a queen bed featuring a memory foam mattress. The living room is furnished with a sofa, chair and coffee and end tables. The kitchen has a dining table with comfortable seating. You are welcome to use the picnic table outside on the back patio as well. The home comfortably accommodates 2 adults and the kitchen is stocked accordingly. Your stay also includes unlimited visits to our Light Station Store and Indoor Museum housed in the historic 1896 Fog Signal Building and containing the original 1st Order Fresnel lens from the 1908 Tower between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily. Tours of the Lighthouse Tower can be arranged by visiting the Light Station Store and asking the Store Associate for availability. Tours are conducted around every 20 minutes with the first Tour at 10:15 a.m. and the last around 4 p.m. Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, 3 p.m. the rest of the year. A complimentary bottle of Husch wine and Mendocino Chocolate Company chocolates will be waiting for you on the dining room table. Pets are not allowed in this house.
Guest access
Guests may come and go at any time, the front entry gates are closed but not locked outside of our business hours. All of our rentals include unlimited access to our 23 acre Outdoor Museum. Visit our Light Station Store and Indoor Museum, housed in the historic 1896 Fog Signal Building and containing the original 1st Order Fresnel lens from the 1908 Tower, anytime between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily (4:30 p.m. Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day). Tours of the Lighthouse Tower can be arranged by checking with the Light Station Store Associate at the store counter. Tower Tours are conducted every 30 minutes with the first Tour at 10:15 a.m. and the last at 3:45 p.m. You will also find a welcome gift bottle of Husch Vineyards wine and chocolates from Mendocino Chocolate Company waiting for you in the room.
Other things to note
We have a 3-night minimum on holiday periods including Memorial, Labor Day and Presidents Day weekends, and the 4th of July and Christmas-New Years period. The Thanksgiving holiday (Thursday through Sunday) is a 4-night minimum.
We are on a septic system, so we ask that you not put anything other than toilet paper in the toilets and that you do not pour any grease down the drains.
There is a friendly lighthouse cat on the property named Arena Mina. Please do not let Mina into your unit, we need to be able to find her at the end of the day to put her safely away for the night.
