We were left solely dependent on what little food we had, what the shop sold and what the restaurant served. We found the shop lacked items like bacon, sausages, bread, etc but had a lot of sweets and crisps. It is far from other shops so we expected more. My dad can't have cheese as it sets his heart out of rhythm, so he could only have garlic bread when it was pizza...

"This is my 4th visit to this excellent hotel, always on a one night stay as I am taking the Carlisle to Settle train the next day (must see!). This hotel is a great place to stay, the staff are warm and welcoming, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and I always get a great nights sleep here. Only a 5-10 minute walk from the station, the building is quite old and has a lot of character. Incredible value for money and well located I never consider staying anywhere else if I am staying in Carlisle. The breakfast at 10.50 pounds is well worth the money. "

"Lovely stay celebrating my partners birthday, The place and grounds are stunning, We arrived and had a complementary room upgrade which was very appreciated room was gorgeous! We headed to the spa which had plenty of options there in, we enjoyed a drift away massage which was lovely, we ate in both the grill and the lakeview restaurant both were superb, breakfast was also plenty of options and delicious, Liam who served us was brilliant at his job, Akils cocktails are superb! They brought out a cake and sang to my partner which was a nice touch what we didnt expect,We also did archery with Kevin who was fantastic and good company, we were also given free passes to the wildlife park just a stonesthrow from the property which was amazing, the staff rrally do go above and beyond to make your stay perfect we cant wait to go back again "
