Cozy beach cottage near Port Townsend!

Welcome to a perfect place to get away from the busyness and relax! This cozy home has two bedrooms (each with a queen bed and one with an additional twin), one bathroom, a nice sized kitchen with dining area, and roomy living room.

Off the kitchen is a double sliding door that opens to a large deck overlooking the bay, with a propane grill (May-Sept).

Down a flight of stairs, you will discover a peaceful 12x12 deck where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or lunch on the picnic table. Down another flight of stairs will bring you to our fire-pit just a few steps from the beach where you can read a book or take long walk down the beach in either direction.

At the far end is a county park and with the proper permits you can clam, fish and crab. Our view contains amazing sunrises, graceful eagles, seasonal seals, loons, osprey, occasional boat traffic and constant beauty. We are nestled from the weather in a quiet bay off the Puget sound.

The house is stocked with games, puzzles, a few books, a TV in the living room, and WiFi for your devices. We hope you can come to enjoy a book, a s'more, a walk at low tide to see what lies under rocks, a game with loved ones and let stress melt away.

There is an great restaurant (Ajax Café), 24-hour QFC, bagel shop, coffee and hardware store (for all your fishing needs) 5 minutes away. We are on the Olympic Peninsula so day trips to explore the mountains, pacific coast or rain forest are ideal. Two great retired naval forts are 10 and 20 minutes away, they are great places to hike, explore and enjoy yummy ice cream. Port Townsend is 20 minutes away with great shopping, more restaurants, farmers markets, festivals and theaters.

What a gem!
My kids and I absolutely adored our stay at the Sandcastle. Clean, cozy, wonderfully decorated and thoughtful touches. The beach access was just as close as the pictures make it seem and the house was well stocked with everything you could need. We made so many happy memories there and can’t wait to return!

Staying here was a truly wonderful experience. Communication with the hosts was excellent before, during, and after our stay. The property was exactly as advertised, though the photos did not begin to capture the beauty and serenity of this place. The hosts have provided everything a guest could want, including board games, books, binoculars, and spotter guides. The view was spectacular, the furnished deck was wonderful for barbequing and watching the stars, and the access to a very lovely private beach was the best perk of all. The neighborhood was quiet, and everyone we passed had a warm smile. The drive from the Port Townsend Ferry was only 20 minutes, with plenty of dining, grocery, and fuel options between the home and town. Overall, it was one of the best stays we have had. We are hoping to return to enjoy it again in the wintertime.

Nice lakefront cabin. Has a patio overlooking the lake and steps that go down to the beach. Wide windows that give sweeping views of the water. Parking is right in front of the house. The host was very communicative and responsive and flexible with our check in time.

Perfect location and easy space to be at home in. Lots of small touches to make the stay pleasant. Beds comfortable, bathroom spacious. If needed a lot of dvds and books, games and Great binoculars were available. It rained hard both days, but we were cozy and happy. Great place. The stairs are very steep, although banisters are well placed, just be aware. Thank you!

Perfect family beach vacation
The house was so cute and had the most amazing view! Steps from the deck lead right to a sandy beach, perfect for building sandcastles. It was stocked with everything we needed to be comfortable and was just a short drive to a great grocery store. Great place to stay with our two little boys!

Delightful cottage house with incredible view; excellent getaway to recharge
This was a gem of a place to stay. My 3 boys loved it so much and are begging to come back. They are so intentional on everything and plenty of fun books, games, etc to truly unwind and recharge. Wish we could have stayed longer. The beach is really incredible too. Great views. There were a few items I messaged the owner about and their replies were prompt and helpful. They do a great job of overseeing the care of this site. Will stay again.

Amazing all around
I don't know what I loved more the view, the location being so close to everything, or how many fun things the hosts have in this house. You could spend all weekend on the beach with the provided sand toys & enjoy evenings with the many games & movies for all ages. Or sight see at so many places within 30 minutes from this place. Definately my favorite place I've stayed at so far!

This rental is adorable and the views were AMAZING! We love that the rental had 3 sleeping areas. It's a two bedroom, but there is a 3rd spot with a cute twin-sized daybed. It was perfect for what we were looking for!

This property was our little slice of heaven for four nights and if we could have stayed longer we would have! Adorable decor, comfy couch and beds. Sizeable kitchen and bedrooms. BUT the sunrises!!! Left us speechless! You don’t even have to go outside to enjoy them ! The sun rises directly across the water within view of every window facing it ! Absolutely gorgeous! The location is ideal because it’s quiet and relaxing out of the way of the busy downtown but close enough that even just going to eat takes only ten minutes! The hosts are patient and quick to respond to any questions! Can highly recommend this unit to stay in without hesitation!
