"We rented the 3BR/3BA unit that is the entire upstairs level of Watzara Wasi. What an incredible and beautifully constructed place! The owner, Rolando, and his lovely wife and kids live downstairs. They allowed us complete privacy but were always available if we needed anything. We purposely chose to stay here, outside of the main area of Cotacachi, because we wanted to be in a more rural area with local people. "It’s close to the airport which is very convenient for travelers arriving early in the morning or late at night. The front desk does not operate 24/7 and you have to ring a bell on the street to get access to the property. The restroom was not clean and it looked like the common areas have not been cleaned. We found empty bottles of liquor in the common kitchen/living room area. "

"Service was great and the hotel and room were beautiful. I upgraded my room based on pictures and the tub didn't have a working plug so I couldn't take a bath after a long travel day. I forgot to say anything to the staff. I would check that the tub was functional before upgrading now."
