Enjoy the rich colors and fragrances while browsing one of the largest collections of native and exotic flowers in Canada.

Beginning as a municipal greenhouse in the 1950s, the Regina Floral Conservatory is now a volunteer-run institution where Saskatchewanians go to unwind and get their “green fix” during their long cold winters. It is also a popular location for weddings. The greenhouse contains one of the largest horticultural collections in Canada.

Explorethe indoor and outdoor flower exhibits and soak up the array of vivid colors from deep red to a pale blue. Breathe in the fresh, moist air and the natural aromas of trees, cacti, succulents and orchids. Many volunteers and repeat visitors consider the environment therapeutic. Relax to the sounds of a waterfall with a book or bring a sketchpad or your camera to capture it all.

The exhibits change up to six times a year, including special displays over Christmas and spring, so no two visits will ever be the same. Call ahead and the staff will reserve a picnic table for you and the family to have lunch in this calming, peaceful oasis.

The conservatory has become an important educational center, introducing children to the principles of plant life and horticulture. Join the once-a-month Lil’ Gardeners Club where kids under five can plant their very first seed with their parents or grandparents. Take the plant home and water it well!

Conservatory Teas are held a few times each year and are a great way to meet local and overseas gardening enthusiasts. Family Days are held twice each year with activities ranging from cooking demonstrations to composting classes. Book the educational programs and Lil’ Gardeners Club classes well in advance as there are limited places.

The Regina Floral Conservatory is a short walk from Albert Street and offers ample free parking. Admission is free. The building has wheelchair access. The conservatory is open afternoons from September through June.
