"We had a great overnight stay at the Bella Vista! The managers were very friendly and offered some helpful tips when we told them we were heading to the South Island after checking out. The motel is in a really nice part of Wellington with a nice cafe a short walk away and great restaurants a bit further up the hill. Would definitely stay there again."

"Had a lovely stay at Richmond Guest House. Was myself and my 2 other girlfriends (21 year olds from Canada) who shared a 3 person room, rooms are perfect size and having our own bathroom was a huge bonus coming from staying in hostels prior. John and other staff were lovely, John even went out of his way to carry my friends heavy suitcase down to our room for us. Will definitely be booking here again if I find myself back in Wellington! "We knew this wasn't going to be a super flash place. It is what it says it is, a safe and convenient place to stay at a reasonable price. The room was not super clean, but the bed sheets were. The car park is very tight, but we still managed to get our Toyota Estima in and out. I was surprised at how quiet it was. Would stay here again, but keep your expectations in check. This is convenient more than fabulous."

Recommended hotel

"This hotel has great rooms, wonderful staff and is in an ideal location on the waterfront. We arrived around 1pm which meant we were able to secure a hotel parking space. The restaurant was very good, and provided us with a nice view over the bay whilst dining. If we returned to Wellington we would definitely stay in the Copthorne again."
