"We thought our sons would enjoy staying in a castle but I was wrong. The building was quite a bit rundown and had no AC. It would have been ok if we could have had the windows open but there were no screens on the windows so the room filled up with gnats. Thankfully the service was excellent and we were able to gets fans for the rooms which certainly helped. The food and drinks were delicious! We also enjoyed the property and the ponies."

"It’s a lovely hotel - all the rooms are large and didn’t feel at all crowded, even in the bar which was quite busy in the evenings. Bedroom was very large and comfortable, with a nice en-suite shower room. A very good breakfast was provided with lots of choice. My only negative is that it is pretty expensive - although we stayed as a ‘treat’ at the end of a touring holiday in the Highlands and it was very nice! 😃"

"We only spent two nights here. Room is nice and large, many windows for breezes and a larger bathroom. Bathroom needs a window covering, but nicely set up and the staff/owners/managers are great. Really nice location. "

"The Hotel is located in the centre of Tain with plenty of parking. The staff are fantastic, smiling, helpful and precise. The breakfast buffet layout is the best I have seen. The 2 cooked breakfasts that I had were just fantastic. "
