"I stayed in 3 hotels during my time in Rome. My husband had a medical emergency so we were not able to fly back when initially planned. I wanted to extend my stay here but unfortunately they were all booked out so had to go somewhere else. The staff went above and beyond our entire stay. If I ever come back to Rome this is where I will stay. It was by far the best of the 3 hotels we stayed. "

"Just had a wonderful stay at The Splendide Royal. Beautiful hotel, room was superb and spotlessly clean and a great location. Staff were all very pleasant. The only downside was when we were checking out we was asked if we wanted to leave a tip for the staff which I felt rather uncomfortable with. I had already left a tip in the room."

"First the positives: Location - superb and close to decent restaurants. The hotel bar - expensive! But superb cocktails, quiet, exclusive and felt like a high-end members' club. The concierge - friendly, helpful and exactly what you'd expect. Quiet location, despite being a 10 minute walk to the Spanish Steps. But.... The rooms are spacious, but sparse. They feel like a 3* room. The plumbing is old, so the shower never got very hot and took FOREVER to get warm. Bathroom amenities were basic...
