"Great welcome at reception. Only downside is that the bar area does not open until 12 noon so if you arrive early you cannot get a refreshment. Super tasty meal in the evening and first class service in the bar. Thank you for a great short stay. "

"Nice hotel for a 1 N stay. Many cruisers are using it. Nice staff. We got a handicapped room. The bed was very small, smaller than a queen size bed for 2. Otherwise it was fine. "

"Clean, quiet and comfortable. Loved the Manor House/main building, which has an interesting and quirky history, dating back to the 1600s. Rooms are basic, a bit dated and located separately from the main building - now a conference centre - and are a complete contrast to the lovely 17th century features of the manor. Room was also quite hot as there is no air conditioning. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Check in was very quick. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine overlooking the grounds. It was perfect for a one night stay to avoid the hassle and expense of parking in nearby Winchester, where we were heading the next day. Would stay again. "

"We had an overnight stay before boarding our ship the next day. Parking for me was great and complimentary but I do think there is a charge normally. At reception we were met and our cases were taken care of by the porters, receptionists x 3 were at hand for booking in. We had booked a standard room So I asked if we could upgrade and was given a superior room with balcony and views of the Solent and cheap as chips. Our cases were in the room as we got there No struggle. The bed was a king size and bathroom had bath and separate shower. My only criticism, the step up to the shower was too high for me. Dinner was at Marco Pierre White restaurant and was excellent and at a reasonable price. Our sleep was long and uninterrupted (bliss). Morning coffee provided. Our breakfast experience was one of the best we have had in Southampton say no more. Would we stay here again? Mmmmmm. You bet your life we would. Well Done!! Ken & Jill Haycock. "

"The number one thing about this property is the staff! They are helpful, compassionate and so professional. This is the best place to stay before cruising out of Southampton. As you can imagine, they are constantly dealing with people who want to check in early after an overnight international flight, or who want to check out late because they can’t board their ship until after noon. They handle it all so well. Dining room was excellent and location allowed for quick walk to High Street and the historic walls. The property is beautifully renovated and very comfortable. "

"Lovely hotel, with friendly helpful staff, lovely clean and attractive rooms and comfy bed. The only downside was no fridge in the room to keep our water and juice cold and as it was a very hot weekend it meant the bottles they supplied and supplies we took quickly got warm; although not sure where they would fit one in our room 🤔…."
