"Our VRBO rental on Lopez Island was a very relaxing place. It was easy to find, The property was in a beautiful secluded spot on the island. Most evenings we drove / hiked to Shark Reef Sanctuary to watch the sunset. 50 years ago I first visited the San Juan Islands, and I hoped someday I would return. "We recently stayed at this house on Lopez Island and, while it has a beautiful view and the potential to be charming, it’s important to know what to expect. The house had an eerie, somewhat neglected feel to it. There were bugs inside, a noticeable odor, and it didn’t seem ready for guests—very bare with no Wi-Fi. Upon arrival, the sliding glass door was left wide open, which was unsettling. The neighborhood has close neighbors, so privacy was limited, and there were no coverings on some of the...
