"The Rusutsu Resort Hotel is a well-oiled machine - all the staff are polite, helpful and they are used to moving lots of people at once. Rooms are clean and reasonably large for Japan. The rooms and facilities are dated; it feels very 90s. Main areas could use a refresh, especially the carpeting in the hallways. Expect to have to walk a lot to get anywhere: to your room, to the ski locker, to restaurants, to the ski hill. Could be really noisy depending on your room’s proximity to the elevators...

"お正月に大人6名＋幼児１名で宿泊しました。広々とした室内で設備が大変素晴らしく、また、隅々まで清潔にメンテナンスされており、とても快適に過ごすことができました。スタッフの皆様の心意気が感じられる宿でした。国道から小道を少しはいった所だったので道路が除雪がされるのか少し心配したのですが、お正月でも朝から除雪車が来て道路が除雪されたので、問題ありませんでした。今後の改良点としては、玄関前の駐車場を２台分平らに舗装していただけたら、言うことなしです。ありがとうございました。"

"All in all my mates and I had a great stay, we paid for a private room and paid almost the same amount you would for those little cubicles. Great option because we got to have a bit more privacy. "We had an amazing stay. The food, the staff, and the whole vibe of the decor are incredible. What a cozy, lovely spot. "This was our third stay at Freedom Inn. We love the location within walking distance to the ski field but away from touristy Hirafu. They have a great pick up drop off shuttle service which can take you to dinner in either Hirafu or Kutchan. Try Kutchan for a more authentic japanese experience. You can even stop by an onsen on the way! There also is a free shuttle to/from the ski lifts. The rooms are very spaceous and there is an onsen/ouffro on site too. The photos don't really do this place...

"Beautiful property and facilities with high-end finishes and design. Excellent food (breakfast) and good restaurants. Only downside is that there is no walkable "local" area to explore. The hotel is self-contained but isolated, and one needs to take the shuttle to Hirafu to be in town. That said, it was a wonderful place to ski in and out of, with fantastic service and amenities."
