"Very cool little chalet/cabin in La Sage (Evolene). Best for 2 people max. and despite the size, having 2 floors to spread is decent. The outdoor balcony/deck facing the mountain...esp with the great weather makes in a gem. Plenty of hiking right around the village too. Will rent the larger one next time, if available"

"Die Lage des Chalets ist hervorragend: ruhig, tolle Sicht, Nähe zur Seilbahn und zum Loslaufen. Man kann auf zwei Ebenen (Balkon und Veranda) draußen sitzen und genießen! "Great Bear is a lovely chalet with breathtaking views in a unique environment. I cannot think of a better summer escape, given the stunning surroundings of the Val Hérens, the local cuisine, produce, meat products, and delicious wines. The chalet fits the rustic character of the tiny village perfectly, while affording the necessary comforts for an Alpine stay. Absolutely LOVED IT!!!"

"Took this trip with my husband, in-laws, and their significant others for a total of 8. There was plenty of space and we all had privacy. The views from this chalet are absolutely in-your-face-stunning and I liked the proximity to nearby ski-town resorts like Sieve. The hot tub was clean and it was also great to have washer/dryer. "We were able to check in early, which was a big plus. Plenty of parking was available. Food at the restaurant was good. Communication was a bit of a challenge, since we spoke English and the staff mostly spoke French but there was a man at the bar/restaurant who spoke English. The elevator is a bit small and the winding road to drive to the hotel was a challenge but the place is beautiful up in the mountains."

"This was a lovely hotel in Kandersteg. This is located beside the gondola station and the walking path for the hike to lake. There was a nice restaurant at the hotel that we had a great dinner at and the breakfast was very enjoyable. My family really enjoyed staying here and we would come back again!"
