Ok small and quiet hotel. Nice rooms with comfortable beds and good shower. Service was slow, didn’t have many food items on the menu. Food is not good. Our check out was awful, at 6:30, having told them the night before it still took 45 minutes to check out. Their process includes taking pictures of the room…very frustrating when you have a flight to catch. Its not in walking distance to the restaurants and shops down the street, need to get a taxi. There are better choices in Tulum ,we’re not going back.

The team at the Mx'axanab were fantastic and made our stay in mid November 2024 (10 days) very enjoyable. The hotel is in a great location, is modern in design but with a nod to Mayan culture, and feel like a high end experience. The food and drinks were good quality and reasonable priced when compared to the very high prices on the main restaurant strip. Sunbeds were always available, the beach was immaculate and it was always enjoyable walking on the beach in either direction. The hotel was very quiet at night which was appreciated due to the party atmosphere 10 minutes walk away. The team at the hotel really made the whole trip special, from the front desk team, to the beach and restaurant teams - calling out a few superstars - Mario, Milo, Luis, Luis and Hermelindo. Hotel location right next to beach was excellent. The staff was great. Paco was very helpful before, during and after our stay (one of our party forgot something in her room and he was helpful in making sure it gets delivered back to her. The only bad part of the trip would be the loose carps that were put on the roof to avoid rain from coming into the room. The wind was strong which kept making the tarps make a lot of noise all night and not letting us sleep. We also had no hair dryer or safe in our room #10.
