The lower temple, called "crypt or parish of Christ", was built around 1200 on other previous Roman-era buildings. It is 31 meters long and 18 meters wide, organized into three ships. His style is transition from Romanesque to Gothic and is accessed by two late-Romanesque doors. Here are the remains of the Holy Martyrs (San Emeterio and San Celedonio) who arrived in Portus Victoriae (the former Roman Santander) by boat.
The tall church was built between the end of the 13th and 14th centuries. At the end the Gothic cloister was built. The modern restorations, after the fire of 1941, replaced the original head with a large cruise plus a dome.

The Sardinero was in 1840 a rugged area around Santander. 26 Since 1850, the first tourists began arriving and some facilities were created (bathroom booths, sheds ...). As a result of the summer of Queen Elizabeth II in El Sardinero in 1861 and Amadeo de Savoie in 1872, the area acquired great fame and began to attract large numbers of tourists. There was a spectacular urban and cultural development with the construction of several hotels, funds, cafes, trains and trams that reached El Sardinero.
The Palacio de la Magdalena, in an eclectic style, with English influences, built in 1909 by popular subscription as a gift for the Spanish Royal Family. Used between 2011 and 2013 to record the television series Gran Hotel.
The Lighthouse of Cabo Mayor presides over the entrance to the Bay of Santander. 27 Privileged balcony to the sea and the city, today is one of the most emblematic and suggestive buildings for citizens and visitors of Santander. Located in the northeast corner of the city, the area in which the Lighthouse of Cabo Mayor is located is part of a larger area constituted by the headlands of Cabo Mayor and Cabo Menor. The physical configuration of this space is defined by its particular geomorphology, marked by the beaches and cliffs of its coastal edge and a rugged relief with maximum heights of 50 meters above sea level. Historically located on the periphery of the city, the area of Cabo Mayor and Cabo Menor has welcomed relevant uses and functions: maritime signal, defensive enclave, racecourse, camping, public park, golf course, etc. It was thus constituted in a tourist landmark and in one of the areas with the greatest landscape and environmental variety.
