If a restful holiday is part of your travel plans, White Beach might be the perfect place to visit during your trip to Akrotiri. Discover the sunsets and volcano viewpoints in this romantic area.
Those white-washed villages perched on volcanic cliffs offer the most spectacular sunset views over the caldera. Spend mornings exploring ancient Akrotiri ruins, then cool off at red and black sand beaches before enjoying local wine at hillside tavernas.
We were here at the end of September so the tourist crowds were a bit less. Lots to do on the island. The best activity was to walk from Fira to Oia (take the bus back). Lots of beaches various types. Sunsets great everywhere not just at Oia.

Santorini holiday is in my bucket list it's a dream came true, watching sunset overlooking the caldera is breathtaking and the same with sunrise. The contrast of the clear blue sky and the white washed buildings is amazing to look at.

Santorini is a beautiful island. It was pretty busy in the shoulder season but at the level of everything being open (April) but not beach season. If you like cheaper prices and fewer throngs, this is a great time to come.

Tourist bits too busy but Oia sunsets should be one of the 7 wonders of the World. We hired an ATV and drove around the island finding quiet beaches and local restaurants - too many tourists but you can avoid them.

Santorini is a beautiful scenic island full of character and great bars and restaurants. Do ask the hotel staff for advice as there are places that will overcharge and spoil your trip.

Amazing views in walkable distance, great architecture and restaurant options -even when the island was abandoned due to the earthquakes. Dream trip finally came true despite it all!

It was the off season. So much of the island businesses were closed. We still had a great time, however it would definitely be much better in season when the island is busy.

Santorini is an amazing place - the colour of the Aegean Sea, red and black beaches, the view of the sunset, and the unbelievable Akrotiri! It's like a paradise on earth.

We would recommend the walk to Oia/Amoudi Bay, Santo Wines for sunset, and staying in Imerovigli as a home base because it is central, less crowded, and has the best food.

Great place to visit. Public bus service is very good and covers most of the sightseeing areas and costs €2 per trip. Plenty of food options to suit all budgets.
"I could not say enough wonderful things about our experience at Sunny Villas! Irini, Helena, and Alex were our points of contact and we wanted to take all of them home with us. They offered amazing recommendations, made us reservations and Alex even packed up a breakfast for us the night before we left since we were leaving before dawn. I’m so glad we didn’t go with an apartment, the bag carrying alone was worth the hotel fee. If you all see this please know how much Hazel and I appreciated your kindness and hospitality. Highly recommend Agean for lunch (just a 5 min walk). We went back again for the pitas and tzatziki. SOO delicious. Santorini was a dream thanks for our experience with Sunny Villas! "
"We had a dreamy time at desiterra. What a beautiful hotel! Perfect to disconnect and relax. We particularly enjoyed how competent, kind and helpful the Spa staff were!"
"This hotel is beautiful. Staff was top notch and the facilities are beautiful. Better sunset than in Oia! Delicious food at great prices. I’ll be back! "
"What an incredible spot! The service and staff were top-notch. Loved the rooms—and the location couldn’t be better. Just a 30-second walk up the hill and you’re treated to a stunning view of the blue dome and three bells. The pool area was a total vibe perfect for relaxing before a day of exploring. I’m definitely coming back!"
"Great for a stay with teens. Plenty of pools & space, comfortable rooms good service. Great location, easy walk to Fira, bus station, supermarket etc which meant everyone could do their own thing"
