"It was perfect. Seriously. Open bar with a pretty stellar collection of local Whiskey. Might disappoint those looking for Western Cocktails (they have them, but they won't be the best you've tried), but why would you order that at a local Ryokan in Otaru Japan?? Ask them for their "o-su-su-me" ("recommendation") and just enjoy yourself. Room was perfect, staff were helpful, food was excellent, and Otaru neighboring areas were so much fun for those looking to enjoy the Hokkaido region. Hope...

"I was slightly disappointed in the rooms of the hotel. I was travelling for business and both myself and my colleague found the rooms smelly and stuffy. The beds were very comfortable though. Overall they were clean enough but the facilities were old. I had a very hard time turning on and off the bathroom sink. The main areas like the lobby and dining areas are spacious and clean and very modern. But overall was a bit disappointed in the rooms themselves. "
