We stayed in apartment- and ate at pub in Portinscale only a 15 minute walk into Keswick lovely walk. Apartment clean , everything you need . The building is Victorian, plenty of room in apartment set in lovely grounds. It is dated, and the hall entrance could do with repainting and new carpets to make it more inviting for guests. "Stayed in the Annex which is the Old Railway Station at Keswick. The room was well decorated with heavy curtains,you could also control the temperature in the room,the bed was extremely comfortable. The bath was very large,and the water was lovely and hot,which was ideal after long walks during the day. We stayed room only,which was ideal for us on this occasion,Keswick is extremely busy all year round and during our stay there,you basically have to book everywhere."

"Stayed in the Winander Club, room 888 which was excellent. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we had our own reception area which was quick. Our room as on the top floor with only one other room. We had a really comfortable bed, bath in main room, good. Size bathroom with nice products and complimentary sweets. But by far the best selling point is the room balcony with amazing views of lake Windermere. Nothing better than sitting have a morning tea / coffee looking at the lake and fells in the cool morning air. Ultimately we can't fault this hotel and our going to look to make it out base to celebrate our wedding anniversary every year. Our only suggestion would be for there to be outside towels to dry off plastic balcony furniture and perhaps blankets so you can spend more time enjoying the outside room space as there are no heaters."
