We rented this cute cabin as a dark place to enjoy the Perseid Meteor Shower in mid-August. The night sky was beautiful and it was easy viewing from the big deck. Check in with Mary was very easy. The cabin was well appointed; every need was anticipated and the two air conditioners kept things cool. The master bed was very comfortable. There is low cell phone service here, so DEFINITELY download some entertainment before you come.
We had anticipated that this rural cabin would be in a remote cow pasture away from the road, but it’s right off a quiet road maybe 25 yards, and next to a low flow river/creek (low flow in August…much more in Spring) where you can hear the animals drinking at night.
We were able to use the cabin as home base as we visited the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum, the Dalton Gang/Coffeyville History Museum, and Pawhusksa OK (where Ree Drummond’s Food Network’s Pioneer Woman is based). Very fun! Check their schedule to see when the Lodge (where they film the Food Network show) will be open.
