I am understand the supposed 200 sqft+ room in Singapore becoming tiny, but having a pillar go right through the middle of the room, occupying a third of the available space and creating a risk of a 'nasty bump' in the middle of the night is plain unacceptable. Still leaving some stars for the great staff and location.

The hotel itself was fine - the room was basic, but clean and the staff were very nice. However, we found it extremely difficult to sleep as a bar in the square was doing exceptionally loud karaoke on a Monday night until 1AM. The room was not remotely sound proofed, as proven by being able to hear the bar most of the night as well as our neighbours in their rooms and in the hall.

Check in was very professional. We were shown to our room by the desk clerk (manager?) who also mentioned we could shower and change in the hotel after we checked out. That was appreciated as we had a midnight flight on the night we checked out. Hotel was close to Singapore subway which is new and safe. Subway gets to most attractions.

The hotel and employees were good. Quiet even though next to main road. 1 1/2 mile walk to Merlion. Easy to get Grab. Directly across street from Little India and Tekka Mall. The only problem was i booked room for two adults and child, two beds, but they said none were available and gave room with queen bed. Not good.
